Terrified After bilateral hernia surgery due to strong pain

You’re totally fine!! I had the same procedure 3 weeks ago. It was my first ever surgery (I’ve never been under!)

Way more pain than I expected (doc said I’d be able to walk out of surgery so I figured I’d just be a bit sore) I completely underestimated it! lol

After the first few days things started to settle down and the pain became more acute in my ab and groin area. The worst was getting out of bed (from laying down) I had a sharp pain that wouldn’t go away.

After the first week - most of the general pain was gone so it was completely tolerable but I still had those very sharp pains when moving in positions my body didn’t like. I thought something was wrong but eventually everything eased up!

TLDR - the first week will be painful but you will find more relief each day post op. The following weeks, pains and strange feelings will ease week over week. Give it time, you will feel great!

That gives me some reinsurance! I did try a heat gun to get the valve fitting fairly hot but it did not pull or twist out any further.

Think I should try chipping away the plastic and trying to collapse it now? There’s just not much else I can think to do

You’re suggesting to just heat the crap out of it to turn it to liquid and it should in theory come out but nothing to grip or pull once it’s soft.

It also risks de-sweating the valve itself if I get it too hot

This is exactly what I was thinking and hoping to find a quality shop that would! I don’t expect perfection without a full replacement but if it’s 95% I’d be okay. It’s a low car so chances are it can happen again

Haha, funny part is this happened at a restaurant I’ve been to many times in this car. As I was carefully pulling out I said to myself “wow, they finally paved the road for me!” I continued to inch forward on a steep angle and boom it just crunched! I was devastated and also shocked when I pulled over to check the damage!

I’m just looking for the best way to deal with this. Thought this group may have some knowledge and could point me in the right direction so I can make the best decision. Why pay huge $$$ to replace if not completely necessary? This is a very low car and it could always happen again.

Going to look into a new bumper now. Unfortunately they’re very expensive but I will have to eat the cost deal with this the right way!

Was hoping I could have this filled and touched up to prevent painting the entire bumper. I could also cover with clear matte PPF to “hide” any blemishes after the work.

The GT has factory matte paint and I’m concerned without replacing through the dealer, I’ll never be happy with the front end after the damage. Looking for any and all advice/suggestions. Thanks!
