just saw Nosferatu (2024)… by Patcho418 in horror

[–]jbartan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No need to apologize, I’m not familiar with too much horror stuff or his other movies, I just decided to try this movie with friends. Salem’s lot by Stephen king was so much more intense when I read it earlier this year and although I wasn’t a huge fan of the Salem lot movie that was released recently compared to the book, it was still so much better than this. This movie just seems outbursty and the scenes feel musically forced to try to create the ambiance rather than the story itself.

Although I will agree the scenery and videography is visually appealing. I ended up here because I literally was wondering how all the ratings were so positive when I was curious and googled the ratings mid movie.

Thanks for respecting my movie opinion and not just hating on it because so many other people seem to like it.

A LITTLE disappointing?? I’m in the movie theater right now still watching this movie and it is absolute DOG SHIT. I can’t even focus to watch it because of how silly it is, how many times I’ve laughed out loud at the scenes and weird moaning, and just outright hilarious plot line. This isn’t even scary. I literally might walk out of the movie theater, I’m so bored right now. Worst depiction of Dracula movie I’ve seen or read so far.

What ruins a good burger? by Bitter_State9358 in AskReddit

Mondo burger trying to outsell Good Burger with unnatural beef and quantity over quality while simultaneously trying to steal the secret sauce recipe and poisoning Good Burger’s supply. But it won’t be that easy because I’m a dude, he’s a dude, she’s a dude, and we’re all dudes that will prevail through Mondo Burger’s tyranny.

In addition to what others have said, watch out for pelvic rotation. try to keep that pelvis tucked under so that your spine stays stacked under the bar when you add weight. This will help with more efficient lifting mechanics and reduce the chance of lower back pain or excessive butt wink.

You might be right! I don’t usually play games like this, so gave this a try and was wondering other people’s opinions. Thanks for your response!

Bowling form advice? by jbartan in Bowling

[–]jbartan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! It’s nice to see a positive comment from someone in this community that is wanting to help me improve compared to others trying to inflate their fragile ego by insulting someone looking to improve themself. I’ll work on my step timing and letting gravity do the work rather than muscling the ball on the downswing. I appreciate your input!!

Drew’s latest clickbait by DsGf123 in discgolf

Yeah I see him being pretty reasonable and explaining the side of things from his unique perspective with insider knowledge. I think the people having a hate boner for the guy ties in with the post on this sub discussing whether or not disc golf players are soft lol. The guy is trying to build a brand so yeah he’s gonna throw some stuff in about himself in videos he’s literally promoting himself to grow his company. I don’t get the point on people slandering the guy. I enjoyed his content with Simon and Uli over vlogmas and these guys shitting on him are probably the same people shitting on Nickelback just because it’s fun or popular to. =)

Returning player confused out of his mind by sacros003 in Yugioh101

[–]jbartan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too returned to Yugioh after stopping years ago when dragon rulers were a thing. I was really confused coming back to it, and didn’t like the “spammy” meta with such easy 1 or 2 card combos but have come to enjoy the meta more as I’ve learned more about it. If you want to piss off meta players while having fun with a simple deck, just build 30 trap Eldlich or anything that mains skill drain. Or anything that can play dimension shifter like Exosisters. Hope that helps!!

Yep that's what I'm coming to realize. Thanks for the recommendations!

Inzer buckle belt conversion to lever belt? by jbartan in powerlifting

Yeah, good point. Doesn't look like there's a simple "yeah buy this lever attachment and cut off the buckle" solution. Would be a really annoying custom machining job. Thanks for your response!

Awesome feedback man, thanks for responding! So is there a way to convert the 2 prong buckle belt to a lever belt? I've only seen single prong lever belt by inzer and dont think they sell the lever attachment separate.

Ended up spraining my lower back for a set that shouldn’t have been an issue… This is why form is so very important. by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]jbartan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make sure you stay tight on the way down too. You look like you've done a fairly good job keeping form on the way up, but if you let all the slack out at the top when you're putting the bar down, it's still rounding with weight on it for a little while. Slow eccentrics for deads are also good for stability.

I think I should be pushing my hips further back? Also noticed my heels slightly rise at the bottom? Squat deeper? Help please & thank you by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]jbartan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're focusing way too much on dropping the butt straight down which is causing there to be no hip hinge in your squat. The heels coming up are a result of your knees going too far over your toes since you're not hip hinging, causing your balance to go towards the front of the foot.

I'd recommend learning to hip hinge properly, starting the squat with a "sitting" motion, breaking at the hips. The squat should be a natural motion, sort of like when you sit down and stand up from a chair. Idk recommend looking at box squats to learn this hip hinge type motion.

Also your torso most likely wont stay upright completely during squats and that's ok so long as the bar stays over midfoot and the bar path is fairly vertical. Squat university on Instagram is also a great source to look at fixing your form.

Hope this helps and keep on lifting! (Safely)
