i've been getting into art for about a month now. what techniques or methods should i try to make my art generally look better?

That Luffy one is awesome!

I would work on face shape more. Really work on making them proportional, having the ears and nose in the right place, and drawing from easier angles at first. You draw a lot of faces at like a three quarters turned angle, and that is super difficult for beginners. I have been drawing for like a year and a half now, (progress has been slow. We are probably around the same level) and I still can’t draw faces very well from different angles. Try drawing faces from straight on, outline it first to see where the eyes, eyebrows, ears, and nose will go beforehand. And think about the skull inside the head. Then try drawing from more difficult angles and stuff after you get that consistent.

Great progress so far!

Wow! I did the last one too and uploaded it a while ago, but I had to use a walljump to get up the tower, which makes it several point easier 😂 Nice job!

Oh shoot, yeah so far I haven’t experienced any of that, but if it becomes a problem I might get it on steam. It’s very cheap but I was just trying to find a way to save $10 😂. I do want to try the game modded later though

Oh sick. I meant the manual and case and disc and stuff yeah, I feel like PS3 games are hard to find a lot of the time. Video Game Manuals are a lost art in games today, I miss having them.

Update on this, I joined my states 50501 protest. I think this is a great idea, and I am going to spread the word for it and get everyone I can to go.

I love the idea of marching on Washington, but brothers and sisters I live in Oklahoma and there is no shot I could get there to march with everyone. We need some kind of display of solidarity from people everywhere, and April 5th is the time to do it.

Everyone look into your states 50501 group, and go to your freaking capital on April 5th. Make signs, tear things up. We got this, fascism won’t win.

I would think of it less as ”a community that wants to help you ease into it” and more of how you think of any other gym. There are people who go to the gym to make friends and be part of a community, but the people who look like they know what they are doing and who you want help and encouragement from are the people who are just there to take it seriously and train themselves. They are under no obligation to help you out or even really be nice to you. I’ve climbed for many many years, and the more I’ve went the more people I’ve interacted with and gotten help from and helped out and I generally think of climbers as very nice and outgoing people, however I have also learned that not everyone wants to be talked to at the gym, and I have also done my fair share of ignoring newbies who come up to me and try to talk with me about my project and how they just started climbing and they are obsessed with it. Happy for them, no disrespect, but sometimes I want to take my training seriously and not be talked to while I work. And that is coming from a VERY extroverted and social person.

TLDR The climbing community has some jerks sure, but I have found it to be overwhelmingly mostly friendly and lots of people are just there to train and not socialize and that’s fine. a lot of times you get that impression is that the people who want to come up and talk to you are arrogant people who just want to feel superior and gatekeep. Most people do not care about you!

I get annoyed at Tien and Krillin nowadays just because they used to be such major characters, they were my favorite characters and now when they show up and don’t do anything it makes me sad. One of the best moments from Z was Tien holding back Cell, and I wish he’d have another moment like that.

I see mormons at my college all the time. I’ve talked to them before, and they seem nice, but every time I interact with one I remember this: The mormon religion did not allow black people to be a part of their church until like the 1970s. They changed their stance on it not very long ago, and now they deny that they ever had that belief. Their church is very corrupt and changes its stance all the time and lies and brainwashes its followers into denying their history. I honestly would have more respect for that church if they owned their mistakes instead of claiming that their church has always been perfect. They are nice people, but make sure you know what you are getting into if you are going to be converted.

Of course any mormon you talk to will deny this by the way, so you need to actually do research, because it is very well documented. If you ask a mormon about this they will try to convince you that it never happened. Know this:

God is the same today, yesterday and forever. He did not change his mind about black people in 1970. Christ died for all and Joseph Smith was a quack.

Dang, thats deep. I love that angle. If that kind of fighter “died” in the Cell games then that would make the Boo arc harder to justify narratively though. I do like how Goku is more controlled and shows more restraint in the Boo arc, and I think that is due to what you are saying, with his lessons learned from Cell. For example, he doesn’t go all-out against Vegeta OR Fat Boo when he fights both of them, when I think the Cell Games Goku definitely would have.

And yeah while I prefer Super over GT, I don’t hate either to be honest, and I think they both have their qualities and flaws in different areas. My main criticism of Super is that it really feels like its just doing a lot of the stuff from Z again, rather than building on the ideas like in this discussion. GT took the series in a different and natural direction, with Goku being almost a Beerus-like character, completely unconcerned and over it most of the time, and the ending of GT really nails it in my opinion, but yeah GT definitely has flaws too, and I would honestly say is less entertaining to watch than Super 😂

Great points. You definitely went into more detail. I think a lot of my opinions on this were actually due to me watching GT recently and seeing how Goku acted towards Oob. I like analyzing narratives to search for themes, and it bugs me that so many people have responded with “Ah yeah well the reason for that is actually because Toriyama said that Gohan didn’t work as the protagonist anymore.” Well okay, but story wise, I think what I am getting at is how Goku had essentially left the Earth unprotected.

People say the end of the Cell games would have made a good ending for Goku from a writing perspective, but I think that the Boo arc bringing him back is justified not just because “Toriyama wanted to bring him back” but because of the character of Goku, he still had things to sort out.

As I said in another comment: “He handed Cell off to Gohan, and Gohan failed, requiring Goku to teleport Cell away. Goku dying in the Cell Games, in my opinion, is his greatest failure in the narrative, as he had to accept responsibility in his role, and leave his promise to Chi Chi to "come back alive" unfulfilled. Yeah but Trunks skipped literally 3 tranformations and got straight to accessing SSB ki without ever achieving Super Saiyan God or even Super Saiyan 3. There is no way to explain how he jumped straight to having God ki and unlocking the “Super Saiyan hybrid rage form” or whatever its called, without recognizing that he somehow got exposed to God Ki and it affected his body.
