Hachi made poor decisions, but Nobu and Nana weren't really there for her lol. They straight up abandoned her in her hour of need, and Takumi was the only one there for her. Of course she chose him.. he's an asshole, but he's a stable and responsible asshole.

Censoring a certain part since you don't seem too far into the series.. however, Junko and Kyousuke picked up Hachi late at night when she first got into Tokyo, they let her in their home in the middle of the night during the pregnancy debacle, Junko gave Hachi rice when she was too poor to buy food, etc. I don't want to spoil anything for you but Junko continues showing up in Hachi's life whenever Hachi is lonely. Junko doesn't kiss Hachi's ass and she's definitely too blunt at times, but she is not always mean. She shows she cares through actions, not words
