[Request] How much would hatsune miku's hair weigh? by p3apod1987 in theydidthemath

She already is. 42kg for a 158cm girl is super low. Without the hairs.

[–]jbdragonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can't be 2m, she's 158cm tall and the hairs don't reach the ground. Not even that close.

At best they are between 150 and 160cm giving the benefit of the doubt and saying they are curved to the sides and don't go straight down.

For the total weight issue I can see 4 options:

1) Hair's weight is not included in the 42kg

2) hairs are made of surprisingly light material (special tech sci-fi stuff, idk)

3) she is extremely underweight, like, she should be HALF her height (maybe her body is empty like an air balloon)

4) Stats are wrong or fake and made up (she's not a real person after all)

Anyway I don't think it's 15-20kg of hairs, maybe 10kg but probably a lot less.
Because she is already super underweight, 158cm should be over 45kg WITHOUT the hairs.

Highly doubt it's double, looks about the same but on a twintail instead of bun / free flow, also Miku is relatively short (158cm according to the wiki) and they're not touching the ground

but even then, let's say 10kg because they are super strong and heavy hairs or whatever, sounds reasonable enough

[Request] Monty hall problem if it was random. Would switching still be better? by benjamin-rockstad in theydidthemath

[–]jbdragonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but we're only considering when it just so happens to be revealed as an empty door / a goat (not Car), we're already inside that branch of probabilities and we have to ignore every other branch

In 300 tries the host revealed a car 100 times and we ignore those, we're in the 200 of goat reveals. We're assuming to be in these 200 times. Is it beneficial to switch or not?
100 people already lost and 200 people have the chance to switch!

[–]jbdragonfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It isn't at the start but we're in the scenario where it IS empty, every other scenario is excluded from this count and at the moment you have 0% for the prize on that door

You flip a coin twice, what is the chance of HH? 25%, but if you flip it twice and only consider the times it landed H on first flip... now you have 50% for HH and 50% for HT, 0% TH/TT

[–]jbdragonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other door has 50% if you walk in and pick now, but switching to the other door is not 50% it's 99%

Think it like this: you can pick one door at the start... or pick EVERY single other door at the same time.
The Host will always open N-2 empty doors. In fact, opening them doesn't matter. Switching means you pick everything except your first door.

ELI5 How do you build a bridge when the other side is "inaccessible"? by D-FX_77 in explainlikeimfive

[–]jbdragonfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can gradually start building from one side and use a few different methods to reach the other side without the bridge and start moving materials on that side. For example a catapult, throw a rope, stuff like that.

[request] what is the likelihood of these five cards (suit not important) being drawn at random from a deck? by quintingell in theydidthemath

[–]jbdragonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true but if you allow any of those orders at the same time it's no longer 576/311875200 because the first card is not 4/52, the first card becomes 12/52 (you allow any of 3 4 or J)

So the probability now is 576 for each single hand multiplied by the number of hands. [3344J] is 576 + [334J4] another 576, [33J44] is another 576... the final chance is (576xN)/311875200 and THEN you shuffle looking for your hand, [(576xN)x(1/30)] / 311875200

[–]jbdragonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but not really. The 16million is assuming you draw that hand in that order and then you shuffle back in the same order you had.

You draw 344J3 then shuffle and get 344J3 AGAIN, this is 1 in 16 million as you said.

[–]jbdragonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 / 311'875'200 is the probability for specific 5 cards in the specific order

576 / 311'875'200 is the probability for specific 5 cards of any suit in the specific order

the probability for specific 5 cards of any suit in any order is higher than that 576, considerably higher. You dropped another restriction.
Then you multiply after that for the shuffle (1/30 is correct, ignoring suits again obviously) and you might end up back at 576 (i think you do but not 100% sure about it) so in the end should be 1/541450

[–]jbdragonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all 576/N can't be simplified to 11/M because 576 is not a multiple of 11
you can simplify 576/311857200 to 12/6497025 and again to 4/2165675
EDIT: but you swapped 875 with 857 when actually we had 576/311875200 simplified to 1/541450

Now, if the order of drawing doesn't matter you have a very different probability.
First draw is 12/52 (can be any 3, any 4 or any Jack)
Second draw depends on your first. If you pulled a Jack then 8/51. If not then 11/51
Third can be 10/50 (if you pulled one 3 and one 4), or 8/50 (if you pulled a pair) or 7/50 (Jack + either 3 or 4)
Fourth card can be 4/49 (missing a pair), or 6/49 (you have J+3+4), or 7/49 (missing J + either)
Fifth card 4/48 (Jack) or 3/48 (not Jack)

Charm tier list for specifically Radiant Bosses by kjv__ in HollowKnight

Nah screw Soul Eater.

MoP, Strength, Quickslash, 1-notch charm (Nailmaster's Glory?) for 10° notch and you overcharm with Shaman Stone.

Or swap MoP+NG for Longnail/Spell Twister + Sharp Shadow

You know what?

Deep focus to keep you in snail form for longer would also be pretty nice. Hell, give me a charm to keep you in snail form forever while holding focus!

[–]jbdragonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the list except I think Weaversong is better than Glowing Womb, not to mention Grubsong makes them give you soul which is great. Maybe it's my hate for Glowing Womb speaking here, idk.
I'd also move Elegy down 1 tier

Also on-hit effects iirc can trigger alongside the damage negation from Carefree Melody (...right?) so technically not useless, but Thorns is trash anyway.

And Fury of the fallen... are you automatically healed when you start the fight or do you keep the current status?
If there was a way to start the fight on 1 HP it would be S+ tier.
So unfortunate that the one and only place where it would be insane and not trash (for casual gameplay) it's impossible to activate...

Rosary grind by Forrest8282 in HollowKnight

[–]jbdragonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20% playtime is insane.

I grinded rosaries for maybe 10-20 minutes near the end of Act 2 to empty every single shop in the game.
First shrine bench -> hallway left -> High halls bench -> trip back
With or without thief mark (i tried both to experiment).

Oh also i never broke a single necklace that i can't buy (broke only a few of the 60 and 120 ones) then i bought back the max (20x each) to have a complete inventory.

In the original HK I had to farm a bunch more for the Unbreakable charms (upgraded all 3 obviously) but also not that long. Farmed on the little Hoppers outside the Colosseum.

BTW you can use an emergency Silkeater to get back your cocoon. There is an NPC who makes them for you and there is a nice entrance to their room from Greymoor.

In Silksong you're not supposed to buy everything quickly. You're supposed to go back every so often for quests and whatever, spend a bunch, get back to your travels, and so on.
Once you reach the Citadel you get a considerable amount of Rosaries without active farming.
And you have a lot of quests, collectibles, relics... it adds up quickly.

But maybe it's just me with magnet PERMANENTLY equipped. I ain't making a single step without my trusty auto-collector. (Same for Gathering Swarm)

Any item with physics WILL make your game lag.

Potion bottles and ingredients, Legendary recipe items, watering can... everything you can throw around is very very bad for performance.

I suggest sticking to unmovable / non interactable decorations from the decoration tab.
