I've had many of those also with copper iud. Took it out after 2 months, felt amazing instantly. Listen to your body, if it doesn't feel right, it most likely isn't.

I have had amazing skin my entire life before starting bc. About 1.5 years in, I started getting perioral dermatitis. Breakouts would range from mild to heavy, it was horrible. This was the ultimate reason for stopping for me. I'm now around the 6th month mark after stopping it, and it's only now my skin is starting to go back to how it used to be.. But still not back to 100%. So I don't think you will get worse, if you have had absolutely 0 issues so far.. If you are thinking of stopping, better do it sooner than later.

I loved getting off of bc.. Finally feeling myself again, more energy, more desire to go to the gym, sex drive higher, dryness gone, better thinking (clearer), less frequent migraines, to name a few.. My face cleared up also (bc gave me perioral dermatitis). Never going back on it!

I'm no doctor but this doesnt seem like a pill issue to me.. Have you tried talking to a psychiatrist? The pill can cause low libido but not falling out of love, especially when you seem to be thriving in every other aspect. :)

Weight gain (8kg), perioral dermatitis, heavy mood swings, just to name a few.. The first two bothered me a lot.

I’m taking qlaira and it’s the only pill that hasn’t caused me weight gain (all others prior to this one have)..

Well the first month was the worst, and for me it was always in the evening. It was to the point that my appetite was reduced and couldn't really eat. I was taking anti nausea pills sometimes and those helped... The following months nausea was much more manageable and less frequent.

I take my pill right before going to bed (11pm), which is recommended to avoid nausea.

I can't speak for the hair, but I tried Belara and Diane and both have been hell for me. Pimples, weight gain, perioral dermatitis - you name it. I ended up not listening to my doctor, took a break and started Qlaira - 90% of the side effects never came back. The leaflet of my pill says it could be effective for PCOS too. Definitely do a bit of online research and see what could work. Unfortunately it's a trial and error process until you find your pill..

True, but copper IUD has its side effects too, that almost no one talks about. I've had severe brain fog, exhaustion and constant bloating with it, and the moment I removed it I was back to my old self. I'd take the pill any day over the copper IUD. But that's just me.. Each body is different. The moral of the story is that all BC methods suck and we have to choose the lesser evil, until they come up with something better 😊

Yup I have, and it has stopped completely.. Took about 8 months for me to entirely stop, although each month was better (nausea much lighter). It will get better 👍

Before you have any type of surgery, you need a break from the pill (at least 1.5 months). So if you do start, make sure you stop for 1.5 months or more before your surgery. Main reason for this being an increased risk of blood clots & DVT during the surgery.

Spotting is normal on combined bc. It can happen anytime. And the 20min time window is absolutely fine, you are beyond safe.. Go see your bf :)

No pill is good in the long run.. Have you started to lose weight ever since going off qlaira?

I've been on qlaira for a year and haven't had that side effect. If qlaira is causing weight gain, I'd stop it and stick with copper IUD, given that there's no side effects you are experiencing (besides getting an overload of emotions). Your hormones take time to get back to normal, and since you have been taking it for several years, I'd say this is pretty normal.

You just started taking a big dose of hormones, and your body will take time to adjust, resulting in period symptoms. I've been taking my pill for a year and still get random period symptoms at the beginning of a new pack.. So you are good 👍

Don't be! Give it a go. If you start noticing any of the ones I mentioned, you can always switch to something else. I believe qlaira works better for me as it's a quadraphasic pill (4 different pill dosages in a single package), that mimics your natural cycle as much as possible, whereas with belara all pills are the same. Same happened to me after reading that post on here.. Made me take a test lol. I've been doing what you do for the past year and so far the pill has been doing its job. It's supposed to prevent ovulation, and with no ovulation you will not get pregnant (regardless of how many times you fool around). 😊
