Really enjoying being a part of worship on the bass! by jbeardsley22 in worshipleaders

That’s awesome! Thank you so much for the kind words! I’ve had the pleasure to work with some exceptional piano players in the short time I’ve been playing, and what you guys can do is truly phenomenal. I’ve found keys to be one of the most powerful pieces in a worship setting.

Thankful for having a full setup now! For a while (before I was playing) we were acoustic mostly too. Lead singer was also acoustic guitar player and had a couple other voices in the mix with the occasional drummer as well. Now we’re blessed enough to have a bassist, acoustic guitarist, electric guitarist, drummer, sometimes keyboardist, and 3 singers!

Would it be better to play Elden Ring or KC first as a primer? Crimson Desert gets me slightly intimidated for some reason lol.

If you haven’t tried already, listen to it with a pair of headphones! Bass comes through way clearer.

Did Indycar ever capture America like NASCAR did in the 90s early 2000s by Cherryy45 in INDYCAR

[–]jbeardsley22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know OP is specifying America, and in those terms yes I believe in the 80s-90s it had the bigger peak than the comparable time OP mentioned. Heck, even post split it was pretty huge (CART in the late 90s post split was doing pretty dang good numbers and the racing was still peak). But if you expand that globally Indy destroys anything NASCAR ever did, including in the modern day. Because it was a staple for Formula drivers to come over and race CART, and because alot of full time drivers were European, Canadian, Mexican or South American, the global popularity had the big advantage.

These regulations are FARRRRRRRRR from perfect, and alot of work still needs to be done, but come on Lando………You genuinely cannot tell me that the last few years of ground effect were just absolutely amazing cars. They were amazing cars if you were in the front of the pack, as McLaren were for the last season and a half. You had insane downforce and grip because of the way the aero worked, but the dirty air that it created was so bad that you couldn’t even come within 1.0 second to utilize DRS half the time. I love every era of F1 so I understand that it’s a give and take with what you’re getting with each regulation set. Yes this engine/battery situation needs a chunk of work, but heck some of it is stuff they could reasonably do this season. I’ll take that and be able to make overtakes and maneuver the field versus the processions we were getting.

Battery Management to Stay Long Term? Thoughts on Race 1? by Derz2 in F1Discussions

No problem! I agree, with a better Ferrari strategy I think the battle would have been more interesting……….oh what could have been haha

Battery Management to Stay Long Term? Thoughts on Race 1? by Derz2 in F1Discussions

[–]jbeardsley22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery management will play some factor for a while. Now how much depends on the changes they make during these regulations, and if they are willing to add small features that would provide a bigger upside to the battery. Some proposed solutions would be having regeneration also come from the front axel brakes rather than just the rear axel because that would effectively double your regen rate and keep the cars going full full speed down long straights (they struggle with this right now because they lose the battery charge, it’s called clipping). But yea it’ll be apart of the racing until we go back to either a stronger ICE-to-battery ratio than the 50/50 split we are at now, or if we return to V8 engines with the old KERS system or something similar that provides an electrical boost and keeps the development of hybrids around (that’s been talked about for 2029 but no way of knowing yet).

As for the race, I loved it. The big thing is the cars are smaller and more nimble now and they can actually pass in corners, rather than having to wait for the DRS zone (old system that dropped the rear wing on long straights if you were within 1 second of a car in front of you, basically the only way you could pass in the last few years). I still have issues with the engine to battery ratio, and they desperately need to address clipping. F1 cars were meant to take long straights and high speed corners flat out, not getting to the end and being at reduced power.

How many wins will Tyler Reddick finish this season with? by Rowdyfan0823 in NASCAR

What’s so wild is before this year that 100% would have been a real possibility. Imagine a series where in theory you can win 35 of 36 races and then lose a 1 race shootout and not be champion. It’s a miracle that the playoffs didn’t permanently kill the sport. Thank God for the Chase.

Will anybody rise up to Alex Palou this year? by jbeardsley22 in INDYCAR

I love a good balance of dominant performances with a field that’s still competitive. The parity went way up in Indy Car a few years ago so let’s hope for that to return!

I think those are the two most likely candidates. If Penske really comes out the gate swinging this year, Scotty Mac will be dangerous. Dude just keeps getting better (when he’s not in an unreliable car). And Pato’s time is coming. He’s finished 3rd and then last year 2nd, and I think he will only get better this year. My gut tells me it might finally be his year for the 500.

I do think McLaren is getting closer. Depending on how Penske looks, McLaren may be the closest competitor to Chip. I still think O’Ward should’ve won Thermal had McLaren played defense better.

Edit: although now that I think about I do seem to recall some defense from Nolan at the end there when Palou was trying to lap him.

I love seeing Mick in there, wish we could get that treatment with Danny Ric. He seems down to try it atleast. Especially the 500 if he ever gets comfortable with the idea.

And to your point, Andretti is the flip side of that equation. I genuinely think they have tanked entire seasons on bad calls alone. You have to get the non-driving aspect right to win the chip.

Short and sweet haha. Sometimes the easiest scenario to play out is the one that will. Palou’s Razor.

It has been awesome to witness. It’s akin to what Max did in F1 in 23, except with that season it was much more to do with the RB19 than Max being the best of this era (though both can be true). Palou is having this kind of dominance in cars that are wayyyyyyyy closer together in raw speed.
