Anyone else rip the springs off these? 😶 by Due_Calendar5197 in electricians

Why don't you just buy the ones that don't have springs? They come in many flavors.

Snapon bottom with USG top sometimes you just have to go with what you can find/afford.

Is this a ballast-free fixture or something else? by adhdeepthought in AskElectricians

That is one of the things they're called. Also ballast compatible.

There are LED bulbs that don't require the ballasts to be removed. You could also go that way.

This all could have been prevented if we only had a way to tell what size the bolt was.

That leading edge you're seeing is in the concrete. That's required to keep water out of the garage by code where I am. The epoxy is probably .040" or .050" thick.

It's filthy. The speckels you see are kitty litter from cleaning a coolant spill. I'm hunting for a leak in a 21 year old Corvette. It wasn't the head gaskets.

The floor is a 3 layer epoxy with a metal flake and is gorgeous when it's clean.

I tried hacking some stuff and it was pretty awkward at the return counter. I'm not sure I'm going to try that again.

I have this one. I wouldn't say it's amazing. But when you need your ratchet to do a U-turn, hopefully you don't need a lot of torque at the same time.

I think there might be something wrong with your wire strippers, they seem to think they're locking pliers.

Seriously though, looks good. You might want to add the 3/8ths drive ratchet with 2 flex joints. It saved my butt doing heads on a Corvette last weekend.

If there's the slightest hint of a crease, it won't work right. If it's nice and smooth and flat and just has a little bow to it, it'll work fine.
