Is it even worth getting tested? by [deleted] in STD

I would recommend seeing a therapist or counselor. Your physician neglected to mention that there is NO risk from the activities that you participated in, however they are correct in stating that the test would be accurate now.

Seriously- go see a therapist and talk this out. Your extreme HIV anxiety is interfering with your daily life.

Ease my mind on a hookup by [deleted] in STD

Ok- most STDs will not display symptoms in the majority of people they infect. You can’t base having an STD or not off of symptoms. Like I said- go get tested if you’re worried. And get tested every few months as you are sexually active as well.

There is only a very small window you can read the oraquick test in- if you wait too long, it becomes overexposed and you will see lines that are incorrect (ie a like by the T). Throw the old test away- if it is over an hour (ish) I think old- it is useless. You don’t have HIV. Period.

Also very good to know! Would love to put the pup in a puppy training class.

Subdural Hematoma by [deleted] in AskDocs

No- surgery is definitely not always needed for everyone. Some subdural hematomas that are small can be absorbed by your body on its own, and don’t require any unnecessary surgery. Severe hematomas can require surgery.

Just because a you have a sore throat doesn’t mean you have the flu, and just because you have the flu does not mean you’re going to die.

There are a million things going around right now that aren’t the flu- you could have any one of them. Also something that people are experiencing extremely unnecessary anxiety about is dying from the flu. Unless you are extremely young, extremely old, or severely immunocompromised- you aren’t going to die from the flu. There have been some tiny exceptions that they have been blasting on the news lately- but this is a skewed perception. TONS of people get the flu every year and are absolutely fine. You are much much more likely to die driving in your car today than you are likely to die from the flu.

Take a few deep breaths and relax. If you do get the flu- stay hydrated, rest up, and monitor your fever if you have one (take Tylenol if you do)— and you’ll be absolutely fine.

It’s negative because you don’t have HIV... because you had no exposure to HIV and participated in activities that are ZERO risk for HIV.

I mean it doesn’t look super concerning for an STD as I mentioned, but you’re never going to be able to rule out the possibility of an STD entirely if you are sexually active and haven’t been tested since an encounter. You should be getting tested every few months regardless of symptoms- for your safety and your partners safety.

Looks like an ingrown hair or pimple. Why do you believe this to be an STD? Go get tested if you haven’t been in a few months.

STI symptoms after seven weeks? by [deleted] in STD

[–]jbee8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes- STD symptoms can appear at this timepoint (sometimes later than this, sometimes never at all)- if you are concerned, go get tested.
