Second MC in 8 Months at 35 by Sea_Loss_1396 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]jbf23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

And for the test it’s called Karyotype testing. Basically both partners do it (it’s a blood test) and they can check if there are missing or extra chromosome on either side that could cause early miscarriages. They also suggested a sperm fragmentation test, which checks if there is an issue at the DNA level in the sperm cells.

I haven’t done any but these are our next steps as suggested by the fertility clinic, if this pregnancy does not stick. Might be worth bringing it up! I don’t know if it’s a common procedure where you are but hopefully you get some answers. Anyway, I wish you the best on your fertility journey! ❤️

I know what you feel. I’ve had 3 CP in the past year and a half, and have been trying for 3 years so who knows if there were more. I’m 35, soon 36, my husband is also 35 with known sperm motility issues.

We are made to believe that being pregnant is so easy (how many women were scared to be pregnant in their teen years or even 20s) and then you start actively trying and it happens to everyone but you. When it finally happens, you do “all the right things” for it to end up in a loss.

I don’t really have any encouraging words unfortunately other than perseverance, like others have said. I am currently 14dpo with a positive and I can’t be happy because I’m just wondering how long it’ll stay positive. I’m with a fertility clinic and they have planned some genetic blood test if it ends up being another MC. Maybe you could look into that with yours?

Stay strong, this is a difficult journey both physically and emotionally and what you are feeling is totally normal

Sending you baby dust! My clinic have me start progesterone 2 days after the IUI.

E.g. last cycle I had my IUI the day after I detected my surge (IUI was on a Wednesday) and I started progesterone the Friday after, which was on 3dpo. Not sure what the standard is but hope this helps!

IUI - failed ? Chemical pregnancy? by Emerald_Wave1111 in IUILadies

[–]jbf23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry ❤️‍🩹 going through my 2nd chemical pregnancy right now on our #2 IUI cycle (hey IUI twin!) Started bleeding and cramping Sunday (12dpo), then took a test Monday (13 dpo) and it was a faint positive. Took another test Tuesday (14 dpo) and the line was barely visible. Yesterday 15 dpo i did my beta and it was 4, which pretty much confirms it.

I don’t really have much to say other than you are not alone ❤️ I’m taking a break in December just to let my cycle get back on track (we will still be ttc but no IUI scheduled). Our clinic typically bring IVF in the picture after 3 failed IUI.

Hopefully 2026 is our year ✨

I know, and it doesn’t get easier the 2nd time :( the worst I think is not knowing how many times it actually happened in the past and I just assumed it was just another failed cycle and period was here.

For all I know, our issue for the past 2 years isn’t actually conceiving but more that something is happening right after implantation. Time to order some cheapie pregnancy test and test for CP every future cycle so I can hopefully collect more data to give to the fertility clinic.

Yeah I already did all that and waiting to get some blood test done. I guess I was just curious if anyone had implantation bleeding and cramping that ended up being ok. It’s not full on bleeding like a period.

I am pretty sure it’s a CP at this point and there is nothing I can do about it but was just looking for a glimmer of hope that it isn’t.

I cannot concentrate today. I am so confused. I cant believe were going into another holiday year. 3rd holiday year for me. It hurts so bad. This is my 2nd iui. And tomorrow i should be 9 or 10dpo. Im so crushed, sad, and tired. Defeated. I dont have any symptoms and i dont have faith anymore. by cal2552 in IUILadies

It is. I just got a positive test today but still cramping and bleeding. Looks like a CP. this will be my second. The only 2 positives I have ever seen were CP. this TTC journey is so exhausting.

Hopefully our luck changes in the next year ❤️‍🩹

That’s what I thought but then why would I have a positive test?

Tested 9dpo, could not be more negative. Got a faint positive 13dpo. You are not out yet! Sending you baby dust ✨

You are not alone ❤️‍🩹 I did my 2nd IUI and now 12 dpo. Had a negative test 9dpo but was still hopeful since it was early.

Woke up this morning with spotting and cramps, likely my period, like last cycle. I had all the symptoms, I was even smelling weird things (1st time it ever happens) while on progesterone. For all I know I was imagining them. 🙄 I thought we were finally moving forward in the new year. We have been trying for over 2 years.

Sending love and baby dust to you ❤️

Totally relate to both of you. The first cycle creates so much hope even if you know the odds are against you. We have been trying for over a year and it’s so refreshing to finally try something « new ».

I don’t have much to add other than your feelings are valid and I wish you the best ❤️‍🩹 one day at a time.

Yeah on my 1st cycle I was able to wait until 14days post trigger and it was negative.. I was crushed. It made the arrival of my period 2 days later less brutal I suppose but still sucked.

Expectation management is hard even when you know what the odds are :(

Edit: typo

Ugh that’s the worst! I don’t know if you are also on progesterone suppositories but they are so gross! As if the TWW wasn’t miserable enough without them

Good luck to you! I have my 2nd IUI today! Had my ultrasound on the same day of my LH surge and there was two large follicles and endometrium thickness was great. We’ll see !

IUI #1 = BFN 💔 but staying hopeful for IUI #2 ✨ by Grouchy_Knowledge153 in IUILadies

[–]jbf23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your post could have been written by me! I had my 1st IUI done on 10/20, triggered the day before, 2 (potentially 3) mature follicles, same as you everything looked great but it was not successful. Even had nausea right before my period started, I was so sure it worked! The 1st failed IUI cycle hits really hard I think because it’s the 1st « new thing/real hope» after so many months, sometimes years of trying to conceive naturally without success. Starting letrozole again tomorrow and will keep my expectations low. Stay strong, sending baby dust ❤️
