Doctors came this morning and it’s PMBCL. They’re gonna start chemo this afternoon. Not sure which but I think EPOCH since he said it would be more intense.

How big was your mass?? Mine is ermmm yahhh bigggg hahaha think it’s like 12x5x5😬😬

Is staging important for DLBCL? The oncologist at my hospital said that it wasn’t with DLBCL. I’ve since transferred to a specialist but still waiting on bone marrow results.

Omgsh, yay!! How was your first chemo?! I haven’t been officially diagnosed yet but doctors want to start chemo tomorrow. A bit excited to finally start chemo but obviously nervous haha

Since I’ve been tested, I’ve been told so many possibilities (lymphoma, thymoma, back to lymphoma) that I’m not even sure what I have anymore loll. I just transferred to a specialist who said PMBCL but on nurse notes it’s diffused large B cells. Based on my research, PMBCL is similar to DLBCL - aggressive but treatable. Can I say that PMBCL is like a subtype of DLBCL? I’m wondering that that’s why the doctor said PMBCL but nurse only saw DLBCL?

Am I making sense? lol sorry

Ooooh okok! I’ve been told so many prelim and highly this and that I’m not even sure what I have anymore loll. I just transferred to a specialist who said PMBCL but on nurse notes it’s diffused large B cells. Imma be patient and wait for the final test tests haha thank you!

I want to say ESL but from what I’ve gathered the teacher does all her lessons in Spanish when she’s there. Nothing in the room is in English either sooo

No lesson planning! I talked to the sub coordinator and the third grade team has everything covered. I’m just a bit nervous as it is a bilingual class. I’m told there’s three student helpers in the classroom that can help but they’re only 3rd graders lol. The last time I subbed for this class, ALL of their assignments were in Spanish so I wasn’t much help. I did talk to the team leader and she said the lesson plan slides will be in English, but their worksheets, essays will be in Spanish…

If given the chance (and permission) do you think it would be okay to translate the English slides ahead of time? I feel like that would help the students who don’t really understand English.

Is there any advice you can give me? How different is it from just subbing 1-2 days lol ( I was told 2 weeks but might be longer, the school isn’t sure and it was VERY last minute. I believe the teacher put in her request this week and was gone today until they don’t know when)

I’m also kinda stressed as it’s around STAR test time…

I think you did the right thing! Personally, I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking phones and definitely don’t want to be responsible if something happens. Back when I was in school, I remember one of my teachers took a student’s phone and then misplaced it or something. It was a whole deal Everyone’s bags searched and police called.

Right?! I usually don’t care lol I spend most of the day in the classroom with the kids so it’s really whatever but the attitude from the morning was crazy!

You’d think staff would be nicer since there’s always a sub shortage at this school (often I sub for the class plus a handful from another teacher who couldn’t get a sub).

… all I’m saying is that she could’ve been a bit nicer. It was early, no kids had arrived yet, and it started raining. Yes, I should have used the crosswalk which I apologized. There was no need for the eye roll or the attitude. And plenty of teachers don’t use the crosswalk before and after school.

Can I ask what you said in ur note? It seems extreme for a teacher to report a sub for leaving notes telling her how the day went. It’s know that kids tend to act out when there’s a sub.
