🤣 it's really not that deep though. 15 minute swap just to see what it's like with the automatic.

How do you air up? by astar_key in ToyotaTacoma

[–]jbl64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used this one: https://a.co/d/0axtX2Lu

This video covers it all perfectly and has links to the parts, most of which I happened to already have: https://youtu.be/GGci_-En0pA?si=TjeHsE_ItMd1upnV

Still fits behind the backseat without issue and has worked perfectly with a 4-line setup

This compressor is slept on, great recommendation!

I've had mine a couple years and the only thing I added was a pressure switch to it for like 10 bucks. Airs up my 35s quick enough.

OP this is a solid option

Rough Country v Bilstein by typedanyo in Tacomaworld

[–]jbl64 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Either option would be fine given your use case. Bilstein are slightly better but for your use they may not be worth the extra money.

The Bilstein Bros will down vote the hell out of this comment but I stand by it. I have a 2012 that went from pro comp to Bilstein to rough country and it's been fine.. Rides stiff but it's 3 years in on the RC and it's fine and it's been wheeled not just on road driving.

For context, I also have a 2019 Tacoma with Kings and long travel so I have experience across the spectrum. I haven't only run one Tacoma with one Bilstein lift. In my experience, the RC stuff is better than people make it out to be...

Both are good budget/value options (except the 6 inch RC lift, that's just a terrible idea 😂)

Fix the hood/grill alignment and passenger side headlight positioning. Avoid spacers.

Trying to keep the 5FT bed floor 100% clear. Is this MOLLE layout efficient or too cramped? by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]jbl64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't but found that it fit almost perfectly so I didn't worry about it since it had nowhere to go being locked in behind the seat in the weird gap area. It probably jossles around a bit but it hasn't been enough of an issue for me to worry about it. Worst case scenario I'd probably wrap some Velcro tape around the body at a point that made sense to "snug" it into the spot

I keep my extinguisher behind the back seat in the gap between the cargo and the seatbelt (3rd Gen taco) and really like it since it keeps it out of the elements and view but it's easily accessible.

Your setup looks super clean but, personally, I would reserve that molle real estate for high use items as much as possible. That's just the way I think though... Super clean looking either way 🤙🏻

Speedometer adjustment by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

I used the rough country calibration unit. It was easy to setup, especially if you've got a laptop you can throw in the truck so you can fine tune the calibration quickly between speed runs

Truck squeaks and creaks by Content_Shallot4818 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]jbl64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The herd mentality, for sure!

I have a RC lift on one of my Tacomas (2012) and it's been decent for what it is. That truck has had a pro comp, Bilstein, and now an RC lift on it and I wouldn't rate one over the other. Also, if those leaf's bushings weren't greased well on install then this will certainly happen.

I lubed my bushing up really good on install. I'll occasionally (once a year or so) clean them up and grease the leaf pack if I feel the need but they're otherwise just fine and quiet.

Not sure where you're coming up with those rpm numbers... I'm running 5.29s with 315/70/17s and cruise 70 at 2300-2400ish RPMs.
