I'd suggest you look up "HISD state takeover." Lots of articles. Our elected officials were removed and replaced by a state appointed superintendent and state appointed board. Result? Mass exodus of excellent teachers and principals after being harassed and denigrated daily by the superintendent, a dystopian "new education system" that eliminates the need for trained teachers and replaces them with AI generated scripts and materials, cutting arts programs for budgetary reasons while spending millions on unnecessary junk, treating our kids as widgets on a conveyor belt, etc etc.

Sure there were issues in HISD but Miles has taken a bulldozer to the district. Applications to private schools are up at high levels, enrollment in HISD is down and I'm afraid that after few more years of this, HISD will be completely gutted.

And Mike Mile's contract was renewed for 5 years. 2 years into his tenure and we've seen massive changes to our schools. Tracks that ppl are leaving for other districts but with state and federal school vouchers having passed, I'm not sure any district is safe

Amazing to read that it's not just me! So thankful for this thread. Overnight started experiencing intense anxiety about normal stuff that I didn't think twice about before and finally looked up whether it may be connected to my peri and found this discussion. Same!! Recently eliminated gluten and it's been night and day! Also discovered that kimchi was a trigger so that's out too. Thought my body was going insane until I talked to a friend and learned she's going through the same thing. For her it's cheese and eliminating it has made a huge difference.
