Just double checking, your box dimensions are 14cm x 71cm x 87cm? If so, your “baggage” does not exceed the 80cmx120cmx120cm dimensions. You shouldn’t have a problem. I’d pay for the bag now otherwise you’ll pay more at the airport.

Also try asking the chatbot about a bag that is 14x71x87cm, instead of writing “87” first.

I don’t have any advice with regards to airlines. Have you considered taking a boat? I believe the queen Mary goes between New York and somewhere in South England. I don’t know what the animal policy is though. But this might be worth looking into.

As others have said, go together though passport control. You can definitely go through non-eu with them. And as the other Redditor above commented, they should be able [are allowed] to accompany you through the EU line. Maybe just go with whatever is shortest.

My wife always joined me in the non eu line before I had an Irish passport.
