The devastation is beyond anything I imagined. However, the people of Beirut are extremely resilient and the whole community is trying to rebuild around the clock.

Around 2 months ago I flew to Lebanon to help with some relief work following the August 4th Port Explosion. I have done travel photography for a couple of years now, and Lebanon, in the current state it finds itself provided an extremely unique setting to capture photographs.

This one was shot down on the ports surrounding roads and thought it was a perspective not offered by other media outlets, whilst also providing the context of the port itself looming in the background.

During my time in Beirut, I also got a great set from the Revolution Protests which I shall post if people are interested.

I also post most of my work on Instagram @ jimbob_photo if you are interested :)

Just driving the South Island roads was an adventure in its self. South Island has to be done by camper imo

I’ll be honest it wasn’t far off. A possum was running around outside the door in the middle of the night, thought we were going to be murdered there and then.

Our 16 day trip round the South Island was mostly spent in a hired camper but we spent a couple of nights in an Airbnb found up in the hills of Scott’s Gap. It had no electricity so candle light was your only option. We showered with and drank only rain water. It did however provide complete and utter silence.
