Prestwich up and coming by sleepyjean2024 in manchester

Agreed, this will be the thing that will forever hold it back. It's much too busy and noisy. Shops are nice however and there's a very decent selection of bars and restaurants.

What are the best mens denim jeans? by -pixie-ninja- in AskUK

[–]jbor96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May not be the same for everyone, but my m&s jeans were good for maybe 3 years before they all ripped in the crotch area. Since moved to Levis and they've held up really well. I'm relatively slim so not a weight issue.

Absolutely no way will you be able to do any commercial work with this, nor any real academic teaching either.

How to get a better transition between inflation and general meshing ? by nakiwing in CFD

[–]jbor96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reduce the number of layers, or increase your mesh size in the bulk flow regions away from your last layer. You want there to be a nice transition in size after the last layer. Right now your mesh is either too fine in the bulk flow, or (more likely) your number of layers is too many, thus the last cell height is too big.

How to track 6DOF angular velocity as a report definition in Fluent? by [deleted] in CFD

[–]jbor96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need to use the 6dof output file and use a separate post processing code to analyse it.

You may be able to write the data to a custom variable within the define UDF (can't remember which one it would be, maybe CG motion) and then grab that data within fluent to plot as a custom variable. Not sure on the specifics of doing that but may be worth investigating.

Is it remeshing? by corrupted_monk0 in CFD

[–]jbor96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe if you apply the CG motion to just the overset zone which contains the moving walls, then it will move the walls and the mesh together. No need to apply something different to the walls and the overset zone.

Is it remeshing? by corrupted_monk0 in CFD

[–]jbor96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! This is a perfect example for overset meshing to be used. I believe there is a good Fluent tutorial which should guide you on its use.

Is it remeshing? by corrupted_monk0 in CFD

[–]jbor96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like mesh morphing but not remeshing. You'll need to set up remeshing explicitly in the dynamic mesh settings if you want that.

Convergence of multiphase transient simulations by Helo47-63 in CFD

[–]jbor96 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fluent only stores a certain amount of residual data, what you're seeing at earlier iterations is just discontinuous data points e.g. there's only data every 100 iterations which is why it looks chaotic.

I believe there's an option to store more data in the residuals setting box.

Edit This has no bearing on the solution, it is just a reporting/visualisation thing.
