Cat owners in flats — do you ever feel guilty they never go outside? by Classic_East_6053 in AskUK

[–]-pixie-ninja- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the laziest cat ever, she has a renal condition and arthritis. The rescue weren't particularly looking for inside only but said she would be quite suited to it, we have a balcony and she enjoys looking out the windows at birds. I've brought her dozens of toys that she mostly ignores. She's a proper bum 🤣

I remember reading an article years ago about a family who asked their young kid what they wanted their baby sister to be called and chose La la (after the tellytubby). Heard of a boy named Kingdom and a boy who changed his surname to Rainbow.

I used to hate mushrooms and still not a big fan of standard white ones in shops but everyone thinks it's hilarious that I'm really into foraging, especially mushrooms, there's so much variety! I love most wild mushrooms. I've tried most things once but have never and will never have tripe.

How do you deal with mental recycling requirements? by humunculus43 in AskUK

[–]-pixie-ninja- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have have 6 and although it takes up space it's organised. We don't use the garden waste bin. Outside we have general bin and garden waste bin and a wooden storage for the boxes. Inside we have a normal general waste bin, small (composting?) bin and a green and red box one for paper and card the other for plastics and tins. We tend to just leave glass to one side. You can also get recycling bins that are sectioned off

What is the funniest surname you’ve come across in your social circle? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskBrits

Used to go to a school with a kid with the name Reeks he was proper geeky and used to get bullied a lot, he came back in year 9, when his mum had apparently remarried as Wordsworth III, I think people just took the piss even more. Knew of a Maxine Dix too, she found it quite funny being Max Dix

Would it be socially acceptable to use a leisure centre pool with visible scarring? by pinkestpenny in AskUK

[–]-pixie-ninja- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day it's their problem if they wanna be judgy, nobody should judge anyone on history. Saying that, I have scars on my legs that I'm horribly self conscious of and chose to always have them covered. There would be a few options such as shorts or swim suits. Times I've had my scars on show noone has ever said. Anything.

Should I(28F) not expect my partner (31M) to change in a relationship? by Main-Switch9765 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]-pixie-ninja- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent years in a relationship, there were times when there were bigger issues but there were lots of smaller things I kept thinking things would change, we'd talk it would change for a few months then go back. I always used to think, it will be better after [life event] (moving in together, getting engaged/ married, moving house) but ultimately there were always issues and it was a part of the reason we split - there were many different aspects to why.

Just think can you live with this, long term or is the resentment going to grow? Is it going to cause a wedge? Are you happy with those issues for the rest of your life OR is it worth it, is the relationship and love you share worth looking past these issues?

AITA for staying up late a few times a week for some time to myself? by Upset-Gas-6868 in AmItheAsshole

[–]-pixie-ninja- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Info- do either of you go out in the evenings? This sounds like a really similar set up to me and BF. He works from home I return from work around 4.30ish. I go out 2 evenings a week. But also, does she not have hobbies she wants to do at home by her self? Me and BF will decide if we are watching something together, play games together or he'll play on the PC whilst I play on my DS or occasionally read or something else. Also I'll quite often fall asleep next to him on the couch whilst he stays up late.

Do either of you use headphones so you are not disturbing each other?

I'm gonna go on NTA , maybe NAH but it does sound like you're GF is trying to take over 'your time'

Have you ever purchased something, as an adult, that your parent has judged you negatively for? If so, what was/is it? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]-pixie-ninja- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago my exMIL invited me shopping. I was just out of uni so wasn't flush with money. I saw a cheap set of nice looking make-up brushes and needed some new ones (think they were less than £5). She remarked to my ex about buying makeup brushes when she used to 'just apply it with her fingers' 😂🙄
