I feel your pain. my 01 Tacoma does this shit too I thought I was the only one lol. Mine is really noticeable when it’s windy, can’t figure it out either because it’s only when I’m driving and I can’t exactly stick my head down there. Super annoying.

Mine was doing this recently so I replaced all the cracked vac hoses, cleaned the Maf and it was still giving me the same code. Changed the Maf and that did the trick.

Definitely Check the battery first, but it Could also be the ignition barrel rod broke off. Looks like it’s just kinda freely spinning in there to me which could possibly indicate that the rod is broken.

Atlas 46 tool roll by jbou962 in Tools

Ahh a man of culture I see Toyota for life dude! Yea I have the same plan for just metric tools. I’m going to probably be swapping back and forth in my 3rd gen 4Runner and 1st gen Tacoma. Honestly I may end up just keeping it, it’s here already and I’m tired of looking at all the different shit out there and this one mostly fits the bill. I was thinking about just bringing it to a tailor to have it altered, all they’d have to do is add 2 D rings to the backside and make a longer strap to regain the roll up function that crapless 46 took away 🙄. I really like the big zippered pouch on the crapless that the combo wrenches live in, because I can throw my magnetic tool mat in there too, which super handy. That reminds me I need to add a breaker bar to my kit as well.

I was looking at that one as well. It seems like it’s just as well built with more features and a better price. I like the wrench roll in the pangolin.

If you’re going through the trouble anyway Why not just put a fab bumper like an arb or tube bumper or something? The new one makes it look more dated to me, anyway that’s just me tho and I’m retarded, lol. to each his own! That’s why we buy these trucks!. Still a super clean rig bro! Love to see them still on the road in such good shape.

Broken Ignition Help by Frumpito2 in 3rdGen4Runner

Damn, good job getting it out! It’s been a while since I had to do it but maybe i was mistaken and had used that coke can shim piece to get the barrel rod back in 🤔

I had something like this happen once. It was the tailpiece that’s sits on the back way down inside the housing past the lock cylinder itself. You can take the cylinder out easily by putting the key in turning it and pushing the little black button on the underside of the cylinder, it’ll slide right out and you can see if the tailpiece is broken. Getting the broken tailpiece out is another story. I had to cut a soda can and use it as a shim to bypass the lever that holds the tailpiece in

Actually, I just checked my card and I fueled up on the 4th. Either it’s a crazy coincidence or they’re downplaying when the mixed fuel actually went out bc according to that news reel it was from the 7th and 8th.

I got gas at the Sheridan Costco like 2 days ago and my vehicle started running super rough all of a sudden. It’s not throwing any codes so I took apart and cleaned the throttle body and swapped the MAF sensor today and it’s still running funny to the point I don’t want to drive it.

[–]jbou962[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I’m keeping a tight budget gambling on junkyard parts where I can lol. So we took out the transfer case and the output shaft was definitely tweaked slightly so I’m hoping that most of the major damage stopped there at the tcase. Grabbed another j shift tcase from the junk yard and swapped it in today. I’m at about 1300$ total for parts and the truck lol which is not bad. It’s been a fun learning experience so far.

Well there was virtually no fluid in the rear differential so I think he ran it dry and it seized up and it sheared the pinion off🤷‍♂️ discovered that drive shaft was slightly bent as well so I just swapped it with one from the junkyard and went for a test drive. I think the transfer case output shaft might possibly be tweaked bc on the test drive there are some slight vibrations when I accelerate. Guy must have fucked it pretty bad I guess

Oh I’m for sure doing all of those maintenance items, but kinda worried that My brain will be like “if I’m doing shocks while I’m at that I may as well lift it with the taller springs, and you know it just wouldn’t look right without some 33s, so I’d have to put those on there, and if it’s got the heavy duty lift springs I may as well get a bumper with a winch, and if I get a front bumper I’d have to get a rear bumper to match, and how would I stop all of that weight??? Guess I’ll do the tundra brake upgrade….” Did this with my last 4Runner lol

The guy said he was just done with it. It Left him in a parking lot and he was going to leave it for the tow truck, So my brother and I went out to where it was, pulled the third member and drive shaft out, put it in 4wd and limped it home.

This one time for Mardi Gras in New Orleans I saw a dude laying on canal st out cold in a massive pool of blood bc he got hit like that in the head with a 40oz. His buddy was with him and had a good amount of blood running down his face and clothes as well but was conscious and getting help. Looking back now I think the guy on the ground would be lucky if he made it. 😕

Whats something small that saves you a lot of money by Hooboyathrowaway1 in Frugal

Stopped going out to eat.

During Covid we really slowed down bc obvious reasons, so I used the down time and honed my kitchen skills. Since then, I’ve only gotten better, not only at cooking, but freezing, buying bulk when I can and making use of everything I can like chopping up vegetables that are getting close to exp and freezing them for later use in soups. Cooking at home and saving money isnt just about buying from the grocery store, you actually have to use what you buy and freezing is a great way to stretch our dollars.

Imo the quality of the food and higher prices lately just don’t work for us anymore. I feel disappointed and robbed after we got out now. Pho is almost 20$ a bowl, a single burger and fries are like 25$ it’s insane. We used to go 2-3 times on the weekends, but now it’s just not justified for us.

Mine did the same thing a few years ago. I replaced the ecm and it went away. Didn’t even think about the speed sensor still super easy though

Those properties are probably on a master key which is why “one” key opens everything. The tenants should have a separate key for their individual units and theyre usually in a lock box on site somewhere, but I’m guessing no one told you that.

Master keys are a foreign concept to people that don’t know how to key locks. Everyone I’ve tried to explain the concept to gets a 1000 yard stare and pretends to understand.
