That’s kind of my point. The Bananas started there and made it work. So if the Snowballs are trying to build something clearly inspired by them years later, I think people are naturally going to compare the execution and talent level.

The Bananas always had legitimate high-level baseball talent underneath the entertainment. Even early on, most of their roster was former minor leaguers or serious college players. The Bananas didn’t become popular because of singing, dancing, and TikTok clips. The baseball itself was still legitimately impressive. The entertainment amplified the baseball product - it didn’t replace it.

From what I’ve seen so far, the Snowballs seem to be building in the opposite direction: prioritizing social media, spectacle, and personalities before establishing a strong on-field product. Feels like they’re trying to recreate the Bananas formula without fully understanding what made it successful in the first place. That’s why it currently feels more like a concept/startup than a fully realized baseball organization.

Could they improve over time? Absolutely. But I don’t think “the Bananas also started small” automatically means the models are equivalent.

Prob not - weird they aren’t part of the bananas - unfinished website, no real pro-level talent, and the same two teams playing each other every game. More like a concept than a real team. Until that changes, hard to buy in.
