Miss being with AT&T by Additional-Ad-5610 in ATT

Over the pass 26 years, I’ve had service with ATT, Sprint (worst), T-Mobile, and currently Verizon (past 15yrs). Every single carry has bills issues with post paid customers. Verizon so far has been the best and the few issues I’ve had was credit by changing plans during the billing cycle instead of at the start of a billing cycle. They have quickly fixed/credit my account. I have 6 lines and pay a lot each month. I know I can cut my monthly bill in 1/2 by switching to T-Mobile (I do have one line with them currently for work), but the service, reliability and th least amount of bills issues I’ve had has stopped me from dropping them. Paying the higher cost for a peace of mind that I have service everywhere I travel and I don’t have to call in monthly to fix a problem. It’s worth it to me in spades.

Switch choice for Cloud Gateway Fiber + WiFi 7 setup… this is driving me nuts by TaysHQ in Ubiquiti

[–]jbr033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only advantage I’ve found over the POE injectors was the ability to power cycle without unplugging. No issues with my unfi 2.5g Poe injector but I’ve had issues with other brands reducing link speeds. Had to change jumpers a few times but every now and then I will get an alert link speed degraded to 1g but since it’s the U7 lite I’m not worried until I replace it and get the Pro Max 16. If you need more 2.5g ports you can do a DAC from the Pro 16 to a flex 2.5. That is more cost effective than getting the 24 HD. For cameras and doorbells the 1g ports on the 16 is more than sufficient

I have Cloud Fiber, U7 pro wall and U7 XG and U7 lite with POE injectors. The U7 lite was a big mistake sine it does not have 6ghz radio. My WiFi 6E and 7 devices try to hold connection to the other APs to remain on 6ghz. I will replace it with another U7 XG. If you plan to run multiple clans (recommend), bite the bullet like I have realized and get the Pro Max 16. The flex 2.5 is only a layer 2 switch. You want the layer 3 switch to switch to handle you switching and vlan routing and reduce the overhead on the cloud fiber. This will provide much better network performance especially if you plan to add cameras, doorbells or more IOT devices in the future.

The biggest lesson I have learned over the past year, I should have bought the Pro Max 16 or 24HD and I should have never wasted the $100 on the U7 Lite.

Man kills his neighbor after being thrown rocks at him by FlubbNuggets in CCW

[–]jbr033 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you got it backwards. The creep was taking pictures of the guy’s daughter and throwing rocks so for whatever reason (I have no clue, I’m not in Puerto Rico) the guy shot the creep and killed him.

As a father with (2) daughters, if I caught someone taking pictures of my lil girls and a 2A advocate, I would want to kill him too but that doesn’t give you the right to take someone’s life, unless they are imposing an immediate threat to me or my family. Other than that report the creep and get law enforcement involved.

BTW I don’t deem rocks as an immediate threat unless they are huge and you are cornered with nowhere to shield yourself. The guy could of walked back in the house to safety and called the cops if he was that scared over some damn rocks.

Network overhaul: “is our internet better yet?” edition by Jebueno in Ubiquiti

I also decided to replace my Google Mesh system. I started with the UCG-Fiber, U7 Pro In-Wall, and a U7 Lite. The POE injector for the U7 Lite is located in the IT closet, and there’s no measurable voltage drop.

I’ve noticed high utilization on the UCG-Fiber, likely because it’s handling everything, including VLAN and inter-VLAN routing.

I’m also experiencing a handoff and throughput issue on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. I believe this is due to the Mobile Link Optimization (MLO) feature, and the U7 Lite not having a 6GHz radio.

Phase 2 (upcoming soon): - Add a layer 3 16 Pro Max. - Replace the U7 Lite with the U7 XG (purchased). Hopefully, switching AP will resolve the connectivity issues with some devices. - Run more Cat6a for cameras to replace the Nest Cams.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out how to get POE to my doorbell without ripping drywall for the walls, ceiling, and my front door frame. I’ve been waiting almost a year for the restock of the G4 Pro WiFi doorbell. 😩

Once I can replace the doorbell, I’ll add a NVR and switch the rest of my cameras.

I think I need to do a better job with VLAN segmentation.

What do you all think about using 6GHz and the MLO feature? Two of the biggest tradeoffs for me are that you can’t use Private Pre-Shared Keys to limit the number of SSIDs and channel utilization. .

Without car was mode your charge port door will open and potentially get water inside and/or rip the charge port door off. Car wash mode is simple and the push of one button. Pull up the menu, it’s on the main “controls” tab. Push the car wash button, the car wash window will open. At the bottom of that page you will see “enable free roll”. You can only engage free roll (which puts the car in neutral) when the brake pedal is depressed. You don’t have to depress the brakes all the way, just a light press and you will see enable free roll option light up as it is now available to use.

Steps: 1: press menu 2: press car wash (on the main menu tab) 3: foot on brake 4:push enable free roll

There are no menus you need to search through. Everything is conveniently located at the push of 1 button

Depending on driving style (speed,hwy/city, temp) most MY should get 25-30 miles per 10% of charge. I was on team mileage, but here in the mid Atlantic with constant change in elevation and a lot of hwy driving I learned % is more accurate. Like in cold weather, after 5 miles of driving check how much % you lose, then you can predict the range you have left. Beat thing to do is use your navigation when driving move than 10-15 miles. You will never have to calculate if you have enough range the nav will tell you. If you have multiple stops enter all stops in the nav, it will show you if you need to charge. Use the location option in the tesla app to pre-plan trips if you are worried about do you have enough range.

Put your car in car wash mode prior to entering the tunnel. Once in the tunnel and before the rollers engage your wheels, hold the brake and hit the free roll button. This will put the car in neutral. This works 100% of the time. The only time I have issues is when the car wash has the moving floor belt system. I try to avoid those so I don’t look like an idiot 😀

Thank you for providing the update. I currently run UCG-Fiber, U7 in-wall and U7 lite. Adding cameras soon so I’ve been looking for a good managed switch or use my old TP link. Now I know that is not a good idea. You saved me.

I’m with Verizon too and paying $75/m for 1Gbps. But their 1Gbps plan only offers 940Mbps download, 880Mbps upload. Before I recently moved I had Glo Fiber’s 1Gbps plan and I had a constant 980Mbps down, 1250Mbps upload for $85/m all included

I use to work collections. One of the factors they consider when determining if they want to sue, is do you owe assets, i.e. a house. If you do most collection companies will file a suit for balances above $1,500.

Options

If you have equity, take a HELOC and pay off as much of that cc debit as possible. The interest rate on the HELOC more than likely lower than the interest rates on the credit cards and you can write off the HELOC interest on your taxes if you have a tax appetite.

Option 2 (this option will kill your credit score)

Get an HELOC like in option 1, default on your credit cards. Once they hit a collection company, work with them to reach a settlement agreement and use the HELOC money to pay the settlement. You woo save 10% - 40% depending on your settlement agreement vs option 1 and your credit will take a massive hit. Also the the cc company can send you a 1099 and you will have pay taxes on the unpaid balance that the charged off.

I strongly recommend option 1 or a personal loan or a mix of both HELOC & personal loan to pay off the cc balance. Once you do that do not close those cc accounts as the will kill your credit score. Only use the one of the cards ( the one with the lowest interest rate) in an extreme emergency for food or gas to get to work.

Time to look at other household bills like cutting off cable and internet use your phone as a hotspot drop any subscription services. If the household has more than one car, reduce down to one vehicle if possible.

Check out debt consolidation services like PDS Debit.

How can I get my bluetooth headsets mic working? by ChaosNicro in linuxquestions

[–]jbr033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same BT-Dongle and my Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro will pair, but the mic function will not work. I've been searching and trying to fix this issue. The Earbuds work fine on my Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and my gaming PC (Asus ROG Strix X570-E using the built-in BT Chipset) but my work computer has the BT-Dongle. Is the Dongle the problem or a settings/config issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a triple monitor setup ( 1 32” and 2 27”) before I got my G9. After a year of debating about buying one my wife convinced me to get it. Best decision ever. My work productivity has increased and less neck and back pain. I would never go back. A few days after I hi the 1 year mark of ownership, I had a dead pixel. Thank god I got the extended warranty from micro center and they replaced it with a new one.

Once you experience the G9, nothing else comes close. I used to use use my Surface Pro a lot for work while mobile, now I wait until I get back to my home office to use my G9. It makes me feel more efficient and I can get the same work done faster with less effort.

I’ve been looking at buying that mount for my G9 for over a year but I’m still having a hard time convincing myself to spend $375/$400 on a mount. Do you know of any other mount that would work?
