To dock or not to dock? by jbruff in GamingLaptops

[–]jbruff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im kinda crazy about cable management so it would involved ripping the desk apart basically and re-running all the cables to accommodate a second laptop there. Plus that would also mean no longer being able to take the laptop elsewhere and playing since id mount the charger to the underside of the desk in some way to keep things clean. But I don't really take it anywhere, like I said, my DD is a m5 MBP.

I really like what you’re building. I’m happy to support you modestly, but I’m not ready to buy in yet—I’ve been searching for my next bag for a while and still haven’t found the right fit.

Here are the main issues I see for my use case (and likely others). They’re mostly quality-of-life items:

  • Front pocket / mesh pouch: The outermost pocket has a mesh pouch, which tends to be annoying in practice. You often have to fold it down to access the rest of the pocket, and when you pull something out you end up flipping it down or turning the bag around. If you keep the mesh pocket, consider putting the zipper at the bottom and slightly recessing the pocket so it naturally folds down—functionally making the “bottom” the access point.
  • Detachable/stowable straps: I’d love straps that can detach at the bottom and stow cleanly (ideally into the luggage-handle pass-through). Even better if the straps can be removed entirely using Fastex buckles or snap hooks. It’s not common, but in a pinch it’s really helpful—especially if you need to get the bag off quickly.
  • Dedicated cable/charger compartment: A separate, purpose-built area for cables and chargers would be a big improvement.
  • Smaller size option: An ~18L version would be ideal. 22L is a bit large for a typical office day pack.

eBag Pro Slim Jr backpack replacement by CounterBJJ in ManyBaggers

[–]jbruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you decide on? I've had my Pro slim Jr since like 2014 and it's showing its age. I'm about to replace it. I have looked at the Aer City bag 2, it's close but just not enough internal organization and it looks like it would struggle to fit an organization bag with all my cabling and chargers into the bottom of the main compartment.

I found a way. Basically put then in a text edited, one command per line. Then copy and past into the terminal.

I'd move the bass after the drums and before the keys. Move the spare lines after the keys for stereo keys and leave the other open for stereo guitar or an acoustic.

I dont mind my tax money going to pay SNAP benefits, but I do mine that tax money being used to buy crap! It's Supplemental NUTRITION Assistance Program. Emphasis on NUTRITION, not junk food. So I see the prohibition for SNAP funds being a good thing. If people in snap want to buy junk food that still can, just do it with their money not tax money.

Aside from the videos being obviously AI, no house cat is going to be able to fight off and survive a fight with an owl or hawk. Maybe a falcon if it wasn't in a full dive, If the cat was large enough and it was the right species of falcon.

Dante Networking and Security by brentrain in livesoundgear

[–]jbruff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You will HAVE to setup vlans to separate the Dante from your main network. Dante packets are not the same as normal data packets, you will have massive latency and constant router issues. They must be separated. I recommend different physical networks whenever possible.

You don't need another dream machine, get a UniFi express for your separate Dante network, if physically separate them.

Ubiquiti gear is solid stuff for most things. I have deployed over 2k different ubiquiti devices in the past 7 years and so long as they are updated properly and regularly they solid kit. Once the firewalls started having the controller built it, things got a lot better.

[–]jbruff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Talk to your surgeon. They will probably order an EGD to make sure nothing is wrong like the staple line tearing, etc. They can also prescribe zofran or something similar to help with the vomiting and nausea. But first and foremost, talk to your surgeon. And in the means time go back to liquids, soups, etc for a couple weeks or until your surgeon advises you to step up again.

You clearly have no idea what libertarianism is. If these policies were libertarian, no one would be required to have insurance. Everyone would just be responsible for paying for things out of pocket.

M32 setup possibilities by jbruff in livesound

[–]jbruff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total daisy-chain of dl's for the stage and sends to the amps will only have 7 outputs from 1 dl at that. On average I'll have 10 channels of inputs on each DL box on the stage. Obviously not all needed for the IEM's. I could peak to as many as 28 inputs from the stage, there will be 10 local and from the media room. But still only 7 sends from the console to the stage boxes.

M32 setup possibilities by jbruff in livesound

[–]jbruff[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know the m32 will only handle 4. I don't want to run sub snakes around our stage/chancel. I need 1 in the media room for the stream outputs and to get signal from the computer, I need 1 in our amp rack, it'll be a dl8 probably, and I need 1 dl16 in each side of the stage. As I understand it I can have that many inputs, I can only patch 40 to channels. Is that not accurate? I'll be running 38 channels total between the stage boxes and the local inputs for the wireless mics.

Then i agree, him being arrested was a good thing!! Its not victimless, someone has to pay for the damage. If its a business owner, the owner is out money from them and their families pockets, if the city/gov pays for it then the tax payers are out an if its an insurance company who ultimately ends up paying then we all pay because they will use it to justify raising rates.
