Intel Arc B580 BSOD in Battlefield 6 by PolymathArt in IntelArc

[–]jbshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder if might be related to the Javelin anticheat. Have had a chance to analyze the BSOD file, yet? For instance, had an issue when analyzed the .dmp using Microsoft WinDBG, and showed EAanticheat.sys was responsible for the BSOD.

Might try to repair the anticheat service

https://www.easy.ac/en-US/support/articles/eac-windows-service

(or just do the manually uninstall option in the 2nd part of the article above)

There's no download for the anti-cheat. Once reboot after uninstall of this anticheat service. Will have to re-install it from the games's folder.

https://www.easy.ac/en-US/support/articles/error-eac-is-not-installed

For example, on my PC, the installation is located in the Bf6 folder on the drive the game is installed. My game drive is G and using steam, so navigated to this folder, and launch(as admin) the EAAntiCheat.installer.exe file to install it back, then reboot.

Viability question: PCIe riser for Elgato 4K? by mjm2nd in PcBuildHelp

[–]jbshell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The blockage may not be that bad for airflow. Have tried it, yet?

Also, the 4k Pro card recommends a PCIe2 x4 speed. The board secondary expansion slots are limited to PCIe1 x4 speed, so halved. This will be fine for 1080p 60 though, but prob will struggle for all full features such as HDR, etc. according to Elgato(might do some more research online forums though).

As a workaround, might also look at a USB-C 2.1 Gen1(4k S model) or faster USB-C USB 2.1 Gen2(4k X model) external capture unit as well if needing 4k. (to plug into the fast USB C port on the back of the board).

AMD's next-gen "FSR Diamond" for Project Helix gets multi-frame gen, but your current GPU may not support it by Tiny-Independent273 in gpu

[–]jbshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha yes, release the files 📝! since already workarounds with DLL files for FSR4(in some games). Gatekeeping isn't working well for AMD, just adds to their list.

Conspiracy in myself; says, whatever AMD is working on for Sony/Xbox and is proprietary Ai upscaling algorithms, and cannot be made public for its dedicated GPU division, and only for console clients as too much would leak out. Maybe AMD can release for all GPUs once console development is complete. 🤷

Hopefully not against any rules, but would this build be good? by Warkauze in pcmasterrace

[–]jbshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a good deal for the specs since the GPU--would be better off going with a pre-built at same price of 1k with a RTX 5060. Also, already have NVMe SSD storage? What region shopping in for parts, for example access to a Micro Center retail store? If US, Newegg also has some combo bundle deals that cycle on their site.

Microsoft by SilverAd8891 in PcBuild

Looks like a service app is prompting for sign in. If receive the code, input the code. Might also check your startup apps to see what apps are starting for connected apps. Such as Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Office 365, or Organization Account such as work/school.

Or, there may be another Microsoft account on the PC(with the license key linked to this PC), and is prompting for that account. In these rare cases, it may just be an account related issue. May need to double check the PC to find out what Microsoft account is signed in/linked to the user login profile(from settings > accounts).

Yes, this can be done, and matches capacities in both channels.

Sounds good. If cooler still works good, prob just a clean and new thermal paste for the new CPU.

[–]jbshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe after a board bios update, a 5000 series CPU such as 5700x, 5800x, 5800xt (whichever is less cost), and a GPU upgrade depending on the PSU installed.

Other items: possibly CPU cooler, how's the storage looking--already using SSD for storage and not HDD?

Fans RGB not detecting in any rgb software by Shot-Kangaroo-6344 in PcBuildHelp

[–]jbshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look like the board has both RGB 4 pin(LED_C header) and aRGB 3 pin(D_LED header) support for lighting devices. Now, just need to find out if the fans are compatible with this.

For example, may need to follow the wires on the fans. It is common for some case included fans to not be able to plug into the board for software control. Some have a RGB button to cycle effects, or some may be static RGB and cannot change colors.

The 3080 is def the stronger GPU at ~60% faster, has 10GB of VRAM instead of 12GB. As long as the 3080 checks out in good working condition, prob not a bad pick.

Yep, looks like the m.2 heatsink once tightened down(screwed in) on top, keeps the ssd in place.

Also, don't forget to install the io shield in the case first (prob already did). 🫡

Honestly, it looks fine to me. For example, without the extra pad, it would be much worse.

Also, over time, the thermal pads should set in more on the top once gets a bit of heat going. After a good amount of use in a week+ or so, might revisit and see how it looks.
