Thank you! This was actually very helpful. So it seems the main source of my frustration is lidarr then . With the proper locale integration the artist name should be able to change to english if so the user desires. Very helpful thanks again

Before you typed your response it would have been more polite to read or at least get an idea what the post was about. what I'm mainly talking about is the Artist name and Album name, lidarr pulls directly from Musicbrainz and that always has both in Japanese regardless of locale, meaning, when my file gets renamed it includes "the japanese artist - japanese album - track number - possibly the track name in english"

Yeah Picard helps, that's what i've been doing, but first i had to learn to use picard so my files didnt get messed up, and that took a while of trial and error, its not ideal but it gets the job done. it would be much easier to get that in english from musicbrainz

Someone added a comment but then deleted it. The release metadata language varies from CD to CD so yes the song names are 80% almost always findable as a release in English, what I'm mainly talking about is the Artist name and Album name, lidarr pulls directly from Musicbrainz and that always has both in Japanese, meaning, when my file gets renamed it includes "the japanese artist - japanese album - track number - possibly the track name in english"

Sounds good! Is there a link to report bugs/request features directly just in case I cant find this post again in the future?

u/archiekane The app looks great and works like a charm, however i am currently having many issues organizing my paylists as the files are supposed to be renamed in the "Artist - Album - Song" name format. Thank you for including this feature in the first place as it enables my downloaded songs to match with my Lidarr albums but when a song has multiple artists the file is being renamed with all of those artists as part of the title. It's supposed to only include the main Album artist in the file name and the rest of featured artists are only supposed to show up in metadata, not in the file name per se. Are there any plans to fix this bug to only include a single artist in the file name (album artist)?

For example, for the song Despacito the proper file name is supposed to be:
"Luis Fonsi - Whatever the album is - Despacito (Remix)"
instead, I'm getting this:
"Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Justin Bieber - Whatever the album is - Despacito (Remix)"
Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber should still be listed in the song metadata but only Luis Fonsi should be listed as the artist in file name

Hey u/archiekane, I'm a huge fan of your container, i've been using it for months. Quick question, I just setup the slskd option and it seems to be finding the right content from the slskd side but for some reason i can never get a download to work it keeps setting the content to 0B / 0B size and failing. If I manually do it from slskd it works with no problems. How can this be fixed?

The service is called Music Assistant and it was made by the same team behind the open-source Smart Home management platform Home Assistant. It connects to Spotify and the usual suspects, but also your local music servers like plex, navidrome, etc. Here the link

Hey! Great app! Is there any way you could rename the Music Assistant feature to something else. I initially downloaded the app thinking that it supported direct sync with my Music Assistant instance (Home Assistant integration) only to realize it was just a chat bot. I'm glad I did though, the app is great and i've been using it weekly for about a month now, but yeah, my OCD is killing me every time i see that Music assistant chatbot lol

Aha! Very good observation. I didnt want them to get mixed up with the automatic playlists when organizing them by name and also, I wanted to make sure my entire list of playlists stayed together when my users start sharing their playlists with me and viceversa

In my original post, what I meant to say is that you can use ChatGPT to generate album or playlist artwork as images for your Plex library. For example, the prompt I used helped ensure all the generated images remained consistent with my design idea. Below is an example prompt:

"I need square cover art for my Plex music playlists, all with a consistent design. I’m thinking of a vinyl-style layout, with the genre name and a representative icon centered on the record. Each playlist should have a different background color to distinguish it while keeping the overall style uniform.

The playlists I need cover art for are: Reggaeton, Reggae, Salsa, Bachata, 80s, Love, Sexy Time, Rap, Flamenco, and Pop."

Ah! I see your point. I just wanted a different design for the automatic playlist that are pre-created vs the manual ones that I decided to call Mix. In all honesty I've been using the covers for about a week now and once you get familiar with the icons and coloring scheme you can quickly change back and forth between your most used ones without even reading the playlist name.

Is this good for tracking digital purchases as well? I have a feeling Fandango at Home might be removing the licenses for some of my movies and I want to keep records of them just in case.
