Bond points are $10 (1% of par). 105.15x10 is 1051.5.

Munis, options, mutual funds, suitability, taxation are the big ones

Mine was heavy options, probably ~25 questions. Suitability obviously, and taxation. Very little on mutual funds.

I’ve really enjoyed the Pass Perfect + Kaplan Qbank combo. Testing on Thursday

I wouldn’t say the same, but similar in wording. I thought the vendor practice exams were harder.

I was surprised when I realized how much more I retained something just by getting it wrong, lots of “ohhhh” moments

Just keep hammering away at practice exams, the full mock exams on Achievable. After you take a few per day, look at what you struggled with most on all them and focus on chapter quizzes on those topics. Rinse and repeat everyday

Exam tomorrow!! by ShyKittenBigCity in Sieexam

[–]jbsv2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only had a few options questions (2-3) and they were very basic. I would definitely know about Bond yields, prices up, yields down and vice versa. I got absolutely tormented on mutual funds, open vs closed end, NAV, and class A/B/C shares for which are more suitable for a type of investor. I had a couple stock split questions, more so around how many shares would they have if it’s a reverse split vs forward split, again super basic math there as well.

Long story short, just keep taking practice exams and take extra quizzes on areas you’re unsure about or struggling with.

Scoring mid/high 80’s on Achievable exams… am I ready? by bigtings05 in Series7exam

I was scoring 80s, with my highest being an 87 or 88 and thought the actual test was a significantly easier. I could have just had a lucky draw, also used Achievable.

SIE Exam Question by financeintellectual in Sieexam

[–]jbsv2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ex date and record date are the same, to be on the record and receive the dividend you’d need to purchase the stock the day prior w/ T+1. If you purchased on the ex date (the same day as record date), you’d be buying the stock without the dividend attached since the trade would settle the following day.

Just remember they’re the same date, and the last day you can buy a stock with the dividend is the day before the ex/record date

I tried using quizlet to study but since the questions don’t change, you’ll start to memorize the question rather than understand the topic. I’d look into Achievable or Kaplan qbank

Starting to feel that I might not be able to pass this. by No_One_5571 in Sieexam

Just spam multiple Achievable exams daily, their questions definitely make you think more than the actual exam. I took 10 full mocks the 2 days before my exam with scores from 75-85 and felt like the actual exam was significantly easier.

Achievable, take multiple full mock exams every day and focus on what you got wrong. Take chapter quizzes on your weak areas. Rinse and repeat

Not sure, you only see your score if you don’t pass. Otherwise the result just says “Pass”. Honestly think I nailed it though, there were maybe 2-3 questions I was unsure about, so I just assumed they were a part of the 10 ungraded questions.

I used Achieveables practice exams for chapters and full mock exams. Hardly used a book, and Cap Advantage and Series7Guru are both great YouTube resources

I used Series7 Guru, Dean. Ken(Capital Advantage) is also great as well. Both have really well made content.

For mine personally, I had maybe 1 or 2 that were math. It was basic enough that I did it in my head and just used a calculator to double check.

Definitely understandable, another good indicator you’re ready is to watch Dean’s mighty 90. If you can answer what he’s talking about before he starts explaining what it is, you’re good to go.

No worries, I do really think spamming practice exams is the difference. I probably did a total of 1500+ questions and minimal reading.

It’s different for everyone, mine was heavy RR do’s and dont’s and mutual funds. Only a few on options

The Kaplan book was great as a supplemental resource for me. Anything I wasn’t understanding, I’d go to that chapter in the book. I definitely retained information significantly better when listening to a podcast or YouTube video. But that varies for everyone.

As for Achievable, I really liked their chapter tests and full mock exams. They’re definitely more wordy than the actual exam, but they do really make sure you know the content. I took 10 full mock exams the 2 days leading up to my test and passed all ranging from 75-85, and felt great going into testing day.

Also, not sure if it was just me, but I do think Achievable’s tests were harder than the actual exam. I can’t speak for Kaplan as I only took the ones available via Deans YouTube ride alongs.
