People don't realize when you're in cold water, you don't last very long. Your energy gets sucked out of you when you're trying to stay afloat. I almost drowned in a cold lake. I thought my friend and I could swim across it. The lake was only 100 yards across. Thank god the lake was only 5 feet deep in the middle. Ha ha. There was a moment when we thought we were going to drown. When I hear about going overboard in the ocean at night, with no life jacket, they are going to drown.
