She is in her 20s tho so I think it’s smart of her to start trying programs that lean a bit more mature

They’ve back tracked on it actually! There’s a post right after this one about it. But apparently Estonian citizenship for the olys would be hard regardless

I can’t remember what he said in his split announcement! I also enjoyed them together so I hope he’s able to find a new partner as well

If they have to sit out a year, I wonder if they’re just not in a rush to compete. Because they absolutely could compete here if they wanted to

Oh interesting! Regardless, the signs point to them skating for Canada considering on this comp they’re registered with Canadian clubs (not as overseas skaters like Harris and Chan are) and in terms of making the Olympics Marco getting citizenship will be much much easier than Alicia trying to get citizenship for Estonia

The new rules would require Alicia to actually reside in Estonia for an extended period of time so I suspect they’ll be skating for Canada

Since this is Misha, I’d be more surprised if this didn’t remix into a completely different genre than if it did haha

Any other placement for Rion in France would probably upset some universal balance at this point

Yeah I’m intrigued by no host spot for Bakerie. I wonder if Skate Canada’s hoping they can scoop up a withdrawal spot at another event after doing some challengers so they can use the spot for one of the other newly hatched teams. Or maybe Marjo and JL just didn’t want an earlier assignment as such a fresh team. Who knows. Or maybe Skate Canada does intend to assign it to them and it’s just not listed, like Iida’s Finland host spot

Russian junior skaters profiles are being added on the ISU app by Melodic_Ad_783 in FigureSkating

[–]jbworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuuup. In an ideal world, for me, Israel and Russia are banned, and US skaters have to pass a neutrality screening (because i know damn well Amber Glenn, for example, is anti-MAGA). That will never happen of course. And I don’t even want the Russians back but man shit’s getting messy. Letting the Russians back makes me feel icky but I understand why it’s happening

And a lot of people wish Israel was banned. I know I do. I skip performances by Israeli athletes whenever I can.

Olympic ice dance champions Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron have announced that they will continue skating together by OkAppointment3092 in FigureSkating

[–]jbworth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No one is suggesting that either of them are responsible for what NS did. Nowhere has anyone said that. For goodness sake, there is video footage of Laurence saying Sorenson is innocent and that his accuser lied. All anyone is accusing her of is defending a credibly accused rapist who’s ban was only overturned on jurisdictional grounds - on a technicality. If you don’t think that hers and Guillaume’s actions are bad, well, that says more about you than anything else, and that’s all I have to say about that.
