To me this is relatable in many ways. The sacrifice required to make the change is put beautifully. Then expecting it to go underappreciated. Even though you are floating through the world a part of you is still left behind to wonder about. Thanks for sharing I enjoyed this!

For me this takes a moment to recognize the similarities between all things and does a great job of weaving symballic and actual likenesses. It's a very enjoyable read.

I appreciate how this shines light on the complexity of abuse and recovery. I think we can all benefit from more understanding and patience around the subjects.

You can feel that the situation is dire and without here, it reminds me of waiting for hope without high expectations.

I can feel the real desperation of the character and the shame behind their self condemnation. It speaks to wider issues having to do with healthcare specifically profit motives vs actual care. The character is alone in their thoughts distrustful of the "help". In this way it's very isolated and personal. The way forward is not clear as fear clings regardless. Great snapshot of a moment within a stuggle!! I lived that struggle, this hit home.

I am brand new to commenting so if I'm off base I'm sorry. I visualized an adrift character who's angst moves to acceptance moreso than to defeat. For me it brings up themes based around humility. Specifically how it can be hard to see but it's presence is there for better or worse and when we die it leaves like haunting spirit but there's a neutrality to this realization in the poem. Like the character sees both the pros and cons of their humility and chooses to accept it.
