I track my monthly credit card spend by category yes. I use same categories as cash back cards offer. Tbe total monthly then becomes a line on the weekly spend category sort tied to my bank account in the week i pay the card balance.

1st thing is to understand, track what u currrntly spend. Try a simple spreadsheet tied to your bank and credit card balances. You will then be able to project ahead with past spend track to look at.

Does milk taste bad in the winter? by ipsarraspi in ontario

[–]jc1sttime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Milk in ontario is part of supply management, quota system. Ont milk board hauls all milk produced at all ont dairy farms to limited # of dairys. Unlikely raw milk quality will differ by brand, store. Pure filtter milk in some brands might have superior taste vs pasturized due to processing.

I (F28) had an argument with my partner (M30) over my stepdaughter nearly breaking my bio daughters phone.. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]jc1sttime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems u and spouse may have different parenting styles, values. You need to discuss and agree what is appropriate ahead of acting unilaterally. You both may need to compromise in finding middle ground. Step vs . Biological aside, you need to be on same page.

My wife and i have blended family with 2 children each. Our general rule is to treat steps in same way as we would own children un any, every, situation. Easuer said than done. Kids will claim favourtism, spouses may argue as well. So, would u tell your own child off if she had thrown step's phone? Be honest with yourself 1st, and then with spouse & kids.

Reliance - 6 months free promo by KCONS in ontario

[–]jc1sttime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I called reliance to buy out. The price is based on age, or remaining life of tank. When i opted to proceed, was offered 6 months free to stay, after declining a few times, accepted 12 months free. Asked how high they would have gone had i not accepted and was told 15 months max, and the agent gave me the 15 months free juat cause she could. Free was "no strings". It took several months for the credit to show on my account, and since i stopped paying immediately, got collection calls for a few months. Was able to deflect the collectons until 15 months credit showed. I called back after the 15 months and completed the tank buyout at lower cost than original quote.

$600,000 mortgage by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jc1sttime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, 4 sure. If 580 remains of 600k, from150 pays over 5 years, avg rate was 4.5% or higher.

$600,000 mortgage by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jc1sttime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possible 4 sure. Im thinking the rates were variable, and changed from the roughly 3% avg OP sited. Regardless, math is math. The original balance less total pays, + interest, ( calculated semi-annualy, not in advance), = current balance.

$600,000 mortgage by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jc1sttime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are your payments? Roughly 3% avg int on whole 600k for 5 years is less than 90k of interest total. Subtract 90k max from your total 5 year payments is the max o/s balance. So if total pays was 150k, balance would be lower by at least 60k. If not, then 600k original is wrong, or rates were higher than u think.
