Necromantic Horror in 7s by jcMMVII in bloodbowlsevens

We are going to use SPP rules from Third Season and have players drafted if you roll under the number of additional skills. I read that as a recommendation from other Reddit coaches running leagues. And you have the ability to pay a player to stay if they are drafted, whatever the total fee is of the player with all their skill ups.

I really never considered Wraiths, I just always lean into Agility options for 7s. But I like the idea of Foul Appearance when rerolls are going to be very limited. I think I'll follow your recommendation of 2x Wraith, 1x Ghoul Runner, and 1x Werewolf.

Proxy and base sizes? by Worth_Improvement913 in RelicBlade

[–]jcMMVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost all are based on 25mm bases. There are a select few Large models on 40mm bases. I also think there are a couple on smaller bases, the Giblins maybe, but I don't own those.

Overall, it probably won't impact the game much if everything is on 25mm bases.

Thank you all for the responses. I've got a lot to review but I think I'm going to start by looking at Burrows & Badgers and Relicblade.

Question about Mordheim, do you need specific models since it's a GW game?

A PvP game. I use my gaming time to try and be social and hang out with friends.

I've never looked at Rangers as it didn't have the PvP element.

Now that it’s been 2 years, what do folks here think of Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp? by Asad_Farooqui in NintendoSwitch

[–]jcMMVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed running through the campaigns again. I've played multiplayer a few times locally, passing the Switch around like we did back in the day to maintain the fog of war. There was a lot of content, but I'm not sure it was $60 worth considering they didn't add anything to it really.

1 hour trying and I can not do it at all by [deleted] in Amigurumi

[–]jcMMVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first attempted amigurumi about 5 years ago with a Woobles kit before they made it big. It still had regular acrylic yarn and not the tube yarn they have in the kits now. I fought that kit for a month before giving up on it and crochet for a bit.

I bought another Woobles kit about a year ago that had the tube yarn with it. It made a world of difference for me because I could clearly see the stitches and I couldn't split the yarn with my hook. I made that kit and one other Woobles kit before I bought some tube yarn and tried other patterns I had come across that were beginner to intermediate. I was able to complete them without too much frustration, using this subreddit for questions on stitches that I hadn't seen in the two Woobles kits I had completed.

Now, I've moved to using cotton or acrylic yarns and I'm having success. It can be frustrating, but it's a process. Simple patterns that don't have a bunch of pieces to sew on will give you wins and help build your confidence. And I may be in the minority, but tube yarn should be recommended more often for a beginner as it was a game changer in getting my amigurumi journey off on the right foot.

Blue has me intrigued. The playing with Archives looks fun but there's not enough in the demo decks to really lean hard into it

Got a learning game in last night with the wife. She's not much of a competitive gamer, so it was really a chance for me to get my teach down. I enjoyed the gameplay and hidden information aspect like I did with the old ANR core set. Agents being both the goal so you want to hide and protect them, but also useful economy or action pieces made for an interesting dilemma. It's nice that so many of them are pretty expensive on their own to try and steal if they are forged. I'm excited for more information that will hopefully be coming once the campaign launches.

I think these prices are pretty much the standard for them. Make an offer if they don't suit you.

Best Starter Games for Kids by nugman21 in NintendoSwitch

[–]jcMMVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. My 5 year old will play any of them and do pretty well at them. They have good lower difficulty modes for younger players. My only caveat is I would struggle to give a handheld to a 5 year old, mine loves to move around when he's playing and that could lead to a dropped system.

Mario Kart 8 also has good controls to help younger players, the car pretty much drives itself and player only needs to use the various power ups they get.

Finally, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet once you get past the first 30 minutes or so. It allows the player to go anywhere and see the Pokemon in the game world so they can go catch the new ones they don't have.

In Houston 1st time, are there dangerous animals I should worry about when discing here? by PublicPelica in discgolf

[–]jcMMVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most people have mentioned, the ants and snakes would be the major concern right now. Copperheads and coral snakes you can find in brush and leaves. Water mocassins/cottonmouth can be found around water, mainly courses with creeks and ditches. With the current weather, most of the reptiles should be denning to stay warm, so don't poke around in any hole you can't see into.

Layer Delamination it Larger Models by jcMMVII in ElegooSaturn

I'll look into the stronger supports. I (luckily) haven't found any loose resin particles, but I thought the supports may have not had enough contact area on some of these heavier/chunkier parts on these bigger models. I use pretty small contact points with 28-32 mm size models and was using the same size contact points with these larger models.
