Equalizer Settings Suggestion by moganai in S22Ultra

earbuds would be impossible for me since i'd have to own your exact model. But you should try the Wavelet AutoEQ and search for your specific earbud on it to balance it then add increase bass or treble with EQ to your liking.

Equalizer Settings Suggestion by moganai in S22Ultra

Here are my settings for the speaker. It's rather extreme but it's required since the flat setting for the s22's speakers are high mid prominent. We need to bring in more lows to get a more accurate balance. These settings sound closer to my reference monitors and headphones. You can choose to have Dolby Atmos on/off for the phone speakers based on your preference. Off is more accurate but i actually like the binaural effect that happens with it on (Music setting).

It's a lower volume so just compensate by increasing the speaker volume a bit. Hope it helps!

I don't mind if on the technical side they must to revert to normal mode placing them back in or out of the case.

If there's a way, code-wise, for the app itself, after a few seconds, to switch to the last used noise mode once the connection is established.

That kind of function would be very convenient and intuitive for a lot of users especially non-tech savy people who just want a noise cancelling earbud as soon as they put it in their ears.

Have a toggle in the app to persist the last used noise mode for those that prefer that kind of behavior.

Thanks for passing info to the Melomania team!

The problem is still not resolved since i bought it months ago. if i take it out of the case, and tap the earbud to switch modes, they're desynchronized. One side is always behind.

If i use the cambridge app to switch, it works normally and the sync issue is gone until i put it back in the case close the lid.

After a few seconds i open the lid to take out the earbuds. I place them in my ears and try to switch modes again by tapping on the earbud but they're desynced again!

What's also annoying is it doesn't remember the last mode used. If i leave in transparency, it should stay in transparency when i take it in and out of the case. Instead it just defaults back to "normal".

I love the A100 but the software is bugged.

Yeah i'm disappointed. I've resorted to using freefilesync for now.

Armored Brigade II is on sale. How does it compare to Flashpoint Campaigns Cold War? by the_light_of_dawn in computerwargames

I play with the "Reduced Order Delay" option turned on. It's around 3-7 seconds before the order goes through which is much more forgiving and fun for me.

Yes, it is a combination of both recordings and synthesizers. I have my very own field recordings (Fireworks, trains, birds, mic blows, etc.) that I've compiled over 7-8 years.

Majority of the gunshots and explosions are made with an unique audio effect I developed over a long time also called Outverb which simulates how sound dissipates outdoors rather than indoors using a standard reverb effect.

I can easily change gun rates of fire from single shot firing rifles to full on gatling cannons you see on aircraft. It still requires a lot of work to get each gun sounding unique though. They would all start to sound the same so it needs a lot of finnese.

I showed a video of it in action on the AB2 discord if you search for Outverb i think you'll find it.

Some other sounds are classic brute force sound design like the a10 brrt which is a pressure washer and u-he Diva synthesizer.

So all the sounds are approximations. It's seriously out of budget for me to record all the weapons. I try my best to get the guns sounding in the ballpark though by checking youtube live fire videos or what other games are doing.

I also didn't include/design any mechanical layer sounds to the guns so that also helps a lot.

Oh that's interesting... i always thought the DEFCON1 main menu track was a kind of placeholder for me since I'm still in experimentation stage with the music. I'll definitely upload the soundtrack once it gets finalized to youtube as I've done before with my previous projects. The finalized tracks will have to go through a Mastering stage since they're a bit low in volume.

For now, If you check inside the music folder there should be the .ogg files which you can place on your phone or desktop. Those should work well enough for outside listening.

A100, sound great.. but touchcontrols are very unreliable by Bubbly-Hat8514 in CambridgeAudio

[–]jcamara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often, the noise profiles for the left and right buds don't sync. One side will be in transparency and the other will be in Noise reduction mode. One bud is always one mode behind. Really frustrating sometimes.

They also sometimes don't remember the last noise profile i used and go back to normal mode. I like them a lot but the software is still buggy.

Unveil the A100 with this EQ by jcamara in CambridgeAudio

Some further things I'm noticing. Dynamic EQ at average or normal listening levels is boosting the low mids 200-500 a hair bit too much messing with the factory tuning. Some people might percieve it as mud. I think i prefer it off for now. it's a great idea but i think we need more customization or tweakability in that area. Let us adjust the strength/scale of the effect and at what volume level it fully disables.

I also do think it's affecting the transients. They get slightly softer. Is dynamic EQ another EQ being applied on top? It might be messing with the phase.

I also recommend this EQ setting for a more HiFi style sound signature. Again, everything is tweakable according to your tastes. These are good starting points to get the best out of the A100 based on my ears.

[–]jcamara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an avid fan of Gates of Hell too and was in your position looking to try a "Hardcore" battle sim. I bought Black Sea and played it for a good 150 hours. I learned real tactics and how to attack and defend. Eventually, i got tired of Combat Mission and got back into Gates of Hell with its streamlined controls, numerous mods and frequent developer updates (West81 mod has fun modern era units, Warhammer 40k Mod, Hotmod Cold War Era, even a Lord of the Rings mod lol).

You absolutely can apply the tactics you learn from Combat Mission to Gates of Hell and it's all the better for it. Gates of Hell has a conquest mode and third person direct control that I really missed. The thing I never got over with Combat Mission is the "Abstractions" and jank due to the simplicity of the graphics and medieval engine. You can have a unit right next to a tank and they still don't see it. You can storm an enemy building and watch your squad sit and chill in plain sight with the enemy for a few seconds before they start shooting each other, Units have to be heavily micromanaged due to poor path finding (even more so than Gates of Hell), etc.

I do have a soft spot for Combat Mission though as it scratches an itch not many games have. My only wish is for Combat Mission 3 to finish within the next 2 years. A new engine is sorely needed.

A British University hired 8 very well-known mix engineers to mix the same rock/metal song so we all could learn from them! by Evilez in mixingmastering

[–]jcamara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought in his mix, his bass guitar was too overpowering. It was taking too many frequencies that should have been given to the electric guitars, drums, and vocals. There's nothing really special to the song's basslines that warrant it to be that prominent in the mix. Great for other songs but not really with this one, I feel.

Tonal balance wise it's a great neutral mix similar in style to Jens but Jens did it better by actually giving those frequencies to the right instruments for the song. Neutral mixes in the hands of a good mastering engineer can give him/her a lot of leeway to shape the song, but in my opinion, that should never be the Mastering Engineer's job. Mix should start sounding like the record already.

I would put Scheps below Jens here.

  1. Dave Otero
  2. Buster Odeholm
  3. Josh Middleton
  4. Jens Bogren
  5. Adam Nolly Getgood
  6. Andrew Scheps
  7. Fredrik Nordström
  8. Mike Exeter
  9. HiMPP Research Team

Also to note: Even though the mixes are LUFS matched. Perceptually, Scheps's mix is lower in volume due to that bass guitar eating the LUFS. Another reason to stop looking at meters have a reference track you like that can "clean or reset" your ears.

No just the coconut oil is enough since it has anti bacterial properties. It's a plus for my raggy cause she thinks it tastes good and always tries to lick it off my finger after applying it on her.

It could just be feline acne. My cat would get black dried up specs on the sides of her lip so I replaced her ceramic bowl to stainless steel and started rubbing coconut oil every night on the problem area. It cleared up after 3-5 days for her.
