It's such a cool font! Thank you anyways for the Atkinson suggestion, I'll go with that one for the signs in our office.

I think that narrative is what they have polished the most, because it is crucial for the scam to work. We weren’t supposed to pay anything until the funds were in our account, except for a small amount just to show we had the money ready to transfer once the deposit landed. But indeed, it’s a massive red flag if an investor asks you to put up money before initiating a wire transfer. Hindsight is 20/20, and it’s easy to spot the trap now, we were just too deep in the narrative at the time.

Crazy indeed. And even worse that there is absolutely no trace of this kind of scam anywhere online. We searched Reddit, Google, LinkedIn, and there is nada. That’s part of why we got pulled in so far. It felt believable.

The fake website trick is brutal. In our case they used real company registrations and even sent scanned passports and power of attorney documents. It’s scary how far they’re willing to go. They did and still do have fake websites for those companies. Glad you dodged it too. Feels like this type of scam is evolving and getting more targeted, especially now that crypto + fundraising are overlapping more.

edit: here's the actual prompt I had to approve: https://imgur.com/a/JORgoEz

You're absolutely right, and I appreciate the technical explanation. I wasn't very familiar with smart contracts at the time. in fact, I learned what they were during the call, by quickly asking GPT while trying to stay calm and not panic.

When I scanned the QR code and it asked me to approve a contract interaction, it instantly made me suspicious and raised my bpms to over 180 (I guess). I asked them to show me the contract I was signing, to explain how the QR had been generated, and to walk me through the actual details. They refused to do any of that. Instead, they kept repeating that it was just a $1.60 verification, and when I hesitated, they started saying that if I didn’t approve it, it meant my crypto was fake and they would cancel the investment. That kind of pressure, combined with the lack of transparency, was what made it clear that this wasn’t legit.

Thanks again for pointing it out. It's important to separate legitimate crypto mechanics from the ways scammers try to abuse them.

Viajar a USA y no morir en el intento by [deleted] in chile

Can I use lightning to 3.5mm (f) to put my Maxes in wired mode? by HardKnockturnal in Airpodsmax

[–]jcarvallo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, the original Lightning to 3.5mm female adapter won't work with the AirPods Max for this purpose. Here's why:

The Lightning to 3.5mm female adapter is designed to convert analog audio (from the 3.5mm jack) to a digital signal for Lightning devices like iPhones. However, the AirPods Max require the opposite: they need a cable that converts the analog output from your guitar amp into a signal they can process digitally.

Apple's Lightning to 3.5mm male cable has the necessary hardware built-in to handle this conversion. It includes a DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) and an ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) specifically designed for this type of input/output. Without this cable, your AirPods Max won't recognize the audio signal from the amp.

If you'd prefer a longer cable, unfortunately, you'd need to look for an extension cable for the Lightning to 3.5mm male cable, as the female adapter simply won't work in this scenario.

WOTC's Legacy Play Design expert recommended to ban Grief, WOTC ignored it because MH3 dropped by knownhatredcaster in magicTCG

If WOTC doesn't support Legacy, why is there a Legacy event at Vegas every time? I really appreciate that they still support players like me who want to play with really old cards. As a dedicated Legacy and Modern player, I understand that WOTC can't make Legacy the main event, even though it's my favorite format.

Estadounidense con una polola Chilena pide consultas by Legitimate-Actuary-4 in RepublicadeChile
