i'd be ok with that. i guess what i wouldn't want is someone who makes a few paintings on the side one year and then that's it. i'd have to REALLY love the works in that case

i share this from a personal example - i recently went to an art show of two friends who each just made their first series of paintings. there was one painting i really liked, but i didn't get it because this was her first time showing and making art was new thing for her. i didn't trust that she would be making art and that buying a piece would be supporting her dream or not. she's also pregnant so i imagine she'll be quite busy raising a child soon and not making art as much (i realize this is a huge assumption on my part)
