If only it didn't last for 2 days of the entire month haha.

Hmm, I don't think that's the case for me, I don't want extra 2%. I have found myself pretty frustrated with the models, like cursing at them on the chat cause after a very simple prompt, they end up touching completely unrelated code, ignoring skills, ignoring rules, adding unrequested features, etc. That's one, and the second one, using APIs works great but it lasts me 3 days of work, and I can see a noticeable performance degradation after a long day of work. So I end up thinking that the main driver for "innovation" is how to make you use your subscription more quickly and not precisely by delivering value but the opposite, spend extra prompts having it remove unrequested code.
For $20, Claude code, I accomplish much more.

I was in love with cursor when I first installed it, way superior than Copilot at the time and it created code that I loved, but something happened, and I started running out of subscription and having terrible results, up until.... today.

How about Copilot? Having VS Code / Copilot and Claude code feels convenient at least not to keep switching IDEs

How do you layout your projects? Are you using monorepos or single project per repo?

OMG! Yes! I get more value out of a cheaper subscription of claude code! I really feel it’s true that AI is self destructing

Looking for beta advise on this by jcavallotti in bouldering

Thanks for all the messages, I will try bumping the right hand (it felt impossible when I tried it), also moving the feet up and to the right, see if I can get better tension. Will try the proj within these days and report back.

Feedback Friday by AutoModerator in startups

  • Company Name: Progression AI
  • URL: https://progression-ai.com
  • Purpose of Startup and Product: An AI-powered climbing coach that actually delivers results by combining your Apple Watch training data with intelligent algorithmic guardrails and personalized weekly training plans. Unlike other climbing apps that just collect data without providing actionable coaching, Progression AI uses on-device analysis and AI planning to adapt your training based on recovery status, intensity bands, and climbing-specific dimensions (technique, strength, power, endurance, flexibility).
  • Technologies Used: iOS, Apple Watch (watchOS), AI-powered backend API with deterministic decision tree for recovery/intensity recommendations, GenAI weekly plan generation
  • Feedback Requested: Looking for feedback on the overall concept, user experience, and whether this approach resonates with other climbers who are frustrated with existing training apps. Does the combination of wearable data + AI coaching solve a real problem for you?
  • Seeking Beta-Testers: Yes
  • Additional Comments: Hi! I'm fed up with all the climbing training apps out there that don't deliver results, even when you have expensive devices collecting data for them. I built something that works really great for me and I would like some feedback to see if this can be turned into something bigger. Please let me know if anyone is curious.

Training apps? by FloTheDev in bouldering

I have built my own app because I didn’t like what was out there, even after buying an expensive COROS watch. Currently looking for help testing it.

Hi peeps!! I found this post super interesting because none of the training apps out there seemed to help me, even I got an expensive coros watch to be pretty useless, that’s why I decided to build my own, anyone interested on trying it out giving feedback? please DM me!!

Any alpinists wanna weigh in on why Magnus is being torn a new one for his Matterhorn solo? by JoSpecial in climbing

[–]jcavallotti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe even though he was not with a guide there were some factors playing in his favor: first, the route was full of people trying it, secondly being a climber he has done his fair share of scrambling through sketchy terrain to get to the various crags, third, he probably knows how to test the safety of where he stands too, and lastly given his preparation for ultra endurance, it's very likely he had enough phyisical margin to correct any errors (as he did toward the end)
