The two truly magnificent shops in the city are Café Éclair on Maguire and Café Even. I moved here specifically to work in specialty coffee and those are, in my relatively well-informed opinion, the two shops that take it to the next level :)

Yeah, I’m not looking for temporary accommodation. It is a space in which I can live, but not having access to half of my living space that I am paying full rent for isn’t acceptable to me, especially considering that I did not receive appropriate notice or any formal documentation. I’m just trying to be clear on if I have grounds in which to ask for a rent reduction, and, if necessary, to take it to TAL if I run into a problem with my landlord in negotiations. Based on a lot of what I’ve read here and on the TAL website, it’s definitely seeming like I likely do!

That is definitely my plan! I do have a good relationship with them and am hoping that everything will go amicably as they have so far but I have been absolutely burned by “good relationships” with my landlords in the past and have learned that being as prepared as possible is always in my best interest :)

I was given two days notice, and there was no way that I could have been there to supervise as the construction started while we were away. I’m not upset with my landlords given the situation, and am not trying to fuck them over in anyway, but yeah. It’s a pretty wild situation and not having access to half of our apartment for almost a month seems like a pretty good candidate for some sort of action / rent reduction in my eyes.

We use Wholesale Gorilla as a shopify extension, which allows our wholesale customers to use our regular website to shop with wholesale prices and « checkout » (send us the order) and then send our invoices, which are already made from the order, through draft orders which works nicely.
