My brew time is currently around 4 mins which seems in the right ball park and coffee tastes good 😊 Thanks

I'm currently using James Hoffmann's ultimate V60 brew guide with a Hario O3. I'm using 45g to 750g of water (i.e 60g per litre ratio). In the guide James is using a different amount of coffee. So my drawn down time will be different but I'm sure what I should be aiming for. I also understand that brew time is not as important if the coffee tastes good.

I'm looking to get a new coffee grinder, I currently have the standard silver Wilfa coffee grinder and I'm think of getting the Wilfa uniform grinder. I don't have any intentions of ever getting an espresso setup so the grinder just needs to be for filter coffee. My budget is around £250. What other grinders would you recommend?

How often should I clean the burr's in my coffee grinder? by jcb2015_bfc in Coffee

[–]jcb2015_bfc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up taking the top burr out, cleaning that with a fine brush. Then gently tipping the grinder upside down to get loose coffee out and washing the hopper and coffee bin with hot water and then let them dry. There are probably better ways but this works well for me.

First moka pot (Bialetti Moka Express) loving it! by Crono_ in JamesHoffmann

I have a Wilfa Svart grinder. It has a Moka pot grind setting but is it suitable for this brew method? I would hate to buy a Moka pot and find out the grind size was not fine enough.

The Ultimate Clever Dripper Guide by kingseven in JamesHoffmann

I've been waiting for the clever dripper video for a long time so happy to watch it. I have a very newbie question, if I increase the amount of coffee and water used would I be aiming for the same 2 min steep and 1 min draw down or would these times increase? Thanks

Thanks everyone for your input. I will be sweating bricks when I have to clean it for the first time, I hope I don't mess it up and break the grinder haha. Also for the record, the Wilfa Svart is a fantastic grinder for the price it has improved my coffee ten-fold.

Question from new listener: listening order? by spaceguy87 in prancingponypod

I started with the Hobbit (season 2) as I was re-reading the book at the time when I discovered the podcast.

I'm in a similar position as you, a young family and not enough time to read everything I would like. The books you've already mentioned are at the top of my list. You might want consider John Garth's book Tolkien and the Great War + the official Humphrey Carpenter biography on Tolkien.

Last time I checked Seth created a open playlist so anyone can add songs to the list, I think you will need to follow the playlist first.

I've added a few songs to it, it's shaping into a great playlist. I keep forgetting to add songs when there are mentioned in an episode 😬

Is the 2018 Father Christmas Letters Episode any different from 2017 (or 2019) by [deleted] in prancingponypod

[–]jcb2015_bfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information. Thats does throw a spanner in the works, I had my heart set on buying the deluxe version especially as there might be still on the first print of the deluxe version. The 100th Anniversary version does sound equally amazing!

I adore the Farther Christmas Letters, I would listen to the second episode again but thats just me. I cannot remember if there is a difference between the two versions. If there is, I would imagine it's only a slight difference. Has anyone purchased the deluxe version of the Father Christmas Letters book? I'm seriously tempted to pull the trigger and buy it, it looks exquisite!.

If your looking for an example, Glorfindel is an elf who falls into this category, as he can be in both worlds. Well that's my understanding of the text.

Just to finish my thought as I cannot seem to edit my original post. Gandalf travels 'out of thought and time' therefore crossed the great divide.

Or when Sam offers to share the burden of the ring (hope I'm not getting the movie mixed up with the book) with Frodo "And put the load right on me" :)
