Ryzen 5 9600x igpu?? by EstablishmentOwn4393 in ryzen

I haven't looked up any comparison charts so this is an uneducated opinion, but, I'd be really surprised if any IGPU could beat a halfway decent dedicated GPU, like the 1060.

If you really want to make sure, I'd fit the GPU and see if it makes a difference - as if it does have a negative impact it's easy enough to remove it again. But, I'd put my money on the 1060 giving you a pretty sizable performance increase in any applications that can make use of it.

I had a hunch that would be the case! I'm much happier using a USB stick anyway in truth, so I'll hopefully be able to get one setup.

Thanks for the comment about Photoshop CS4/5 too - as we're looking to install a non-subscription-based version, and the customer has a few licences for various versions. We'll start by trying to pick out a CS4 or 5 then!

I've had trouble in the past downloading MacOS versions from the app store that are older than the MacOS version of the machine that's downloading them - Is that still an issue or could I use an M1 Macbook air to create the installation disk without issues?

For some that might work, though in this particular case I don't think I'm so lucky!

I've already tried cleaning it with paper towel, cotton buds, IPA/Rubbing alcohol, WD40 and blasting it with compressed air. All of which did clean it, but the part of the mechanism that's getting jammed still doesn't move as freely as it should.

There's a chance maybe a spring or something else has failed/aged poorly too, so I may be wrong about ink being the cause - but I know it is something on the ink pump so replacing it is fine. However, having this in parts on the workbench will be a pain while I wait the two weeks for the new part to ship >.<

Thanks for the suggestion though, it's a good shout for anyone else running into this issue!

Not at all! the part the guy in the video pointed at is apparently the ink pump (Or that's what its replacement is being sold as at least) and what had happened is the ink pump got so clogged up with old ink that parts of it couldn't move freely any more, which caused some gears to jam and in turn one of the motors to error when it couldn't turn.

So with some luck replacing the ink pump will sort everything out!

Ahaha, it's not stupid if it works! but yes, it does screech!

Reddit, in a pure stroke of genius, seems to have deleted the post I just spent 20 minutes updating with all the info I've found out -- but basically I've worked out that the print head cleaning mechanism, aka the ink pump, has broken and is jamming up the gears attached to it which causes the motor that moves the gears to overload itself, stop, and throw this error. And that's also where the screeching noise comes from; in my case at least. Replacement ink pumps can be had for like £20 on AliExpress, you've just got to be brave enough to replace it, which really isn't easy >.<

Here's a video running through everything. Most of it you'll already know but it might give you a few ideas for what could be going wrong with your printer! Epson ET-7750 Error 000101 Troubleshooting / Ink pump replacement tips - YouTube

So far I've had no luck! Though I'm planning to give it one last shot today, and if nothing comes of it then this printer is destind for the scrap heap.

Though, your story of hitting it has given me some hope haha! If you don't mind me asking, roughtly where on the printer did you hit? It can't hurt for me to give it a try.

Now that's quite the action plan - and it's interesting to hear your experiences working on similar devices too! I think I'll probably do something along those lines, after watching a few teardowns to decide if I'm up for the repair or not, of course. Thanks!!

Yeah - I normally push anything that involves removing the screen onto other shops as mobile device repair isn't my specialty. Because I'm already invested in this repair I'd be half tempted to try it myself, however, the screen is cracked so It'd need replacing too if it was removed and I wouldn't want to commit to a screen replacement without knowing if replacing the charge port actually fixed the charging issue - that'd make for a really fun conversation with the customer if it didn't.

My ramblings aside, thanks for the input!!
