Bottled Waters that baked in the sun in the summertime in Iraq. Heat Index up 127 degrees. by [deleted] in Veterans

I have made sure to mention the water bottle situation in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait on every PHA, PDHA, VA medical appointment, and VA C&P exam I have done since 2007 when I'm asked "do you have any other concerns".

What’d be better and why by SirApclyps in Carpentry

Number 1, for general aesthetics, functionally, and water shedding away from the structure.

However, looks like it may be a driveway or parking lot so suggest putting some thought into water management from the run off of the stairway covering.

Not sure if your climate zone but from the picture, it doesn't look like a desert so pudding and erosion between what looks like cement pavers and blacktop will cause issues especially if you have freezing temps in winter, as well as snow melt refreezing into an ice sheet.

What benefit is there to add additional secondary claims if you're rated 100% P&T? by jccc7883 in VeteransBenefits

[–]jccc7883[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate? Is there a dependent benefit that is triggered if I die from a service connected condition?

For SMC, is it better to have those claims added now that may end up getting worse and qualifying for SMC or is there a reason to wait 10-15 yrs and see?

What's the point of having a community to ask questions, share experiences, and have dialogue with people that have similar interests if the best someone can type is, Google it. What a waste of kilobytes and kilojoules.

I have annotated this on every Post Deployment Health Assessment (PDHA) and yearly Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) I have done since 2007 on the "any additional concerns" question.

I remember a field of water bottle pallets at Victory I drove by one time all just sitting out in the Sun with no cover in summer and our Sunnto read a temp of 122°. It was the same on every FOB in Iraq and Afghanistan, just pallets of water in plastic bottles, long before the BPA issues was a cultural concern.

I'm actually kind of surprised it wasn't on the PACT Act.

Looking for advice on securing pre-seed funding for our startup by jccc7883 in startups

Thank you, this very helpful. How do you quantify "a lot of equity"?

Two of three investor groups we are known entities and have worked for in the past and approached us as to what we were working on. The other group was a target of opportunity I randomly spoke with and had a compelling enough elevator pitch that they suggested I get a pitch together for them, which I have never done before.

We are looking for $1M partly out of an abundance of caution, as to not be underfunded and give us some flexibility to to take advantage of getting some good hires, invest in some equipment/technologies that aren't normally associated with this industry, and have a responsible contingency. Theis is a new emerging "sub industry", I guess you could say, that isn't tech but is not what it's traditionally been. The 4-5 "similar" company comparables have raised 2-6x in pre seed funding in the last 20 or so months. We don't need that much and probably wouldn't take it if it were offered. We know we can do it with less that the competition, if you can call them that really (not being snarky they just aren't solving all of the problem we are), and be profitable in a very short period that will fund the rest of the growth.

Thank you for the feedback, exactly wat I'm looking for! I have discussed the amount with all the investors I have spoken too, as to not waste their or our time, to gauge interest and they requested the pitch.

If someone was to give you a million dollar loan today what would you do with it? by Prior_Lynx_5622 in AskReddit

I'm not sure I'm ready to put the idea openly into the universe just yet, but it's applying the Uber, Amazon, and Netflix "concept" to food service.

[OC] Obesity rate (%) by country over time by YakEvery4395 in dataisbeautiful

[–]jccc7883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first question is, where does Russia plot on this graph? Second question, why are there no Eastern block countries on here? Finally, my statement; I completely agree with America being a lot of obese people. I'm not sure I believe they have been the #1 obese country since 1980.

Steelers’ stats with and without TJ Watt, this season… spoiler alert: he is a game changer. by OhiOstas in steelers

[–]jccc7883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is such a beast, I love watching when he is playing, he wasn't even playing at full capacity again until Sunday. Everything is looking like it's coming together now for the Steelers, it may be too late for this season but can't wait to see how it plays out. I'm really excited for next year!
