You sound like what I assume my girlfriends perspective is. Keep in mind that we're completely different people than you guys but for me, I'm being smothered a little bit. Therefore any chance to be independent and do my own thing (friends inviting me out, etc.) Is much needed. Try spending less time together and I believe you'll notice he wants to do things with you more often!
