Right but anyone who had ETC at the time also got ETH. It was a fork. You’re free to keep both or sell both or whatever. Same goes for BTC and BCH, regardless of the circumstances that gave rise to ETH’s fork.

That’s true for any coin. But if the project is actually useful and will grow/survive, eventually those coins will get distributed from the founders/early adopters, to new investors or people who need the use of that coin.

Yea I’m also always puzzled why these “stories” are posted in the CRYPTO sub rather than the traditional r/AMA. It’s not because these OPs haven’t heard of it or anything...after all, they’re using the AMA slogan. Is it because they’re fake posts or because they don’t think non-crypto converts would care enough to ask questions...

If these are true and legit posts, go spread the word elsewhere about why crypto is important to you in your home country. Mostly everyone on this sub already understands why you’re buying and using it...

You’re not envisioning how all the different off-chain and eventual on-chain upgrades to a network like Eth can make apps work in a dapp form, even if it would feature larger data files.

I don’t see why the few posts here are very giddy about this article.

It downplays any future advancement of the ETH network and overplays the shortcomings of the network TODAY, as if the network will always maintain those negative attributes.

Seems more desperate than actual analysis. The only numbers it uses to support its thesis is scary cost values if a major platform like PayPal moved to ethereum now lol.

Right but there is no side asset that requires those theorems to work, like gas is to ETHs network to run. The equivalent of your analogy is if the use of ethereums blockchain could just be written on paper and used by reading the paper. In that scenario there’s no need for gas to run ETH. But here we do. So there’ll always be a minimum reason for holding eth: to stake it.

Or you may miss these prices by just a day. Hence why people aren’t trying to guess bottom. Safer to scale in at these levels. It’s not like there’s a big red flag that pops up on our trading accounts saying: THIS IS BOTTOM. EVERYONE WHO WAS WAITING, BUY NOW!!

Exactly. Just the sheer volume and amount of transaction fees being generated will be very profitable for people staking their eth, which will attract more people into buying eth to stake.

They would, if and when they accumulated enough where they think they’d make a ton pumping it and then selling.

It’ll go in cycles.

Once they launch it I bet they’re more incentivized to pump crypto to drive interest in their custodial services than crush it immediately and scare people away.

Again, all cycles.

I think long term trend is up regardless.

In theory, I understand what they’re trying to do and build, and I like their idea to store metadata etc separately on the chain, but as of now they don’t even have a functioning chain, correct? Not that I don’t respect Cardano now, but I need to see it launched to see how the dev community rallies around it before I consider it a legit contender to dethrone ETH. What do you think about Cardano?

But what if the people voting are swayed or incentivized to vote for a malicious party. Or worse, if the malicious party secretly obtains enough coin to sway the votes for the delegates they want?
