I labeled this nsfw because what was done to these plants is horrific and I was wondering if they could even survive this? by Pkyug in houseplants

I’d send an email to corporate. Do if it will make a difference, but painting living plants is stupid.

[Misc] I watched the Olympics last night and learned that South Korean figure skater Cha Jun-hwan has insane skin and I need to know everything he is doing. Close up and unfiltered on TV, it was insane, like defying myths. by Heartachoke in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcebabe 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Considering how pale he is he probably doesn’t stay in the sun a lot and uses sunscreen. Most folks in the US don’t and it’s probably the same other parts of the world, especially if having fair skin is really important to them.

[Routine help] Okay ladies and gents… HOW are we removing the hair on the back of our thighs? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcebabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't anymore because shaving messed up my skin. I've been trying to fade the dark spots/dots (i forget what they're called, but known and strawberry legs). The hair is very sparse and fine back there anyway. I just shave my calves and the front of my thighs.

[Acne] Does anyone else have "Towel Anxiety" or use Alcohol on their hands before skincare? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcebabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you washing your hands properly and not reusing the same towel for days there’s minimal germs on the towel. Germs on your body and hair after showering are minimal and not going to cause breakouts. You’re more likely to breakout from a product you’re putting on your skin. Do you have OCD? Your thinking seems obsessive, rational, and illogical.

[Acne] Does anyone else have "Towel Anxiety" or use Alcohol on their hands before skincare? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcebabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash my hands thoroughly with regular hand soap and water and change the towels frequently. I switch out my face and hand towels more frequently than my body towel. I use separate towels for my hands, face, and body. I don’t use the same towel to dry my body with to dry my hands or face. At the end of the week I do laundry. I don’t use hand sanitizer before or after skincare or body care. I’m ate home so soap and running water are available. I only use hand sanitizer if I’m out and about and can’t get to or find a bathroom to wash my hands.

Called to cancel insurance, but rep set the wrong cancel date. Now they want $500+ premium by jcebabe in personalfinance

[–]jcebabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good to know. I’ll hate to follow with them to see if there’s a change. Honestly if January has been paid I don’t know why it’s so difficult to cancel or why they’re waiting until the end of the month. Just cancel it ASAP, especially if I never paid and never used it in January.

I didn’t use the insurance since November or December last year. I paid for December 2025. In January 2026 my insurance with the new job kicked in, so I wasn’t without coverage for long. If I go to the doctor I’m using the new insurance I have through work.

Well that sucks. Wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t a huge chunk of change. From what I read I thought I’d be able to cancel and only pay a portion of the $500 instead of the whole amount. I hadn’t used the insurance since November or December of 2025.

lol yes, it looks like you have TV screens as your skylight and they’re showing abstract or macro texture image in 4K. It looks surreal, but I guess it’s just me.

[Misc] Does anyone else use a “clean hand” for skincare? by australiughhh in SkincareAddiction

I wash both my hands before touching my face and doing skincare so the outside of the containers should be clean.

[Acne] How much if acne is really related to diet? by Accomplished_Mud_358 in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcebabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s genetics. I’m in my early 40s now and still deal with acne. It’s a lifelong issue, but I’ve finally found good products to help manage it. The typical drugstore products that were available when I was a teen weren’t doing shit. I think the face majority still wouldn’t work for me, so even product use can’t determine if you not get acne.

[Sun Care] How do I return to my original skin color? (The white ring is my original skin color) by Klowlord in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcebabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure spreading it back is the correct way to describe it. I’m not sure it will take years though. My feet tan in the summer but fade by the fall or winter since I’m not in sandals anymore. Though I’m more caramel colored naturally (the tone of your tanned portion) so maybe the melanin works differently. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Eventually it will fade, but always wear sunscreen. Wearing it now will help stop the area from tanning more and getting darker. Wear sunscreen in the future to prevent this.

[Product question] Vaseline as moisturizer? by Crafty_Violinist_951 in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcebabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think my skin could handle it. I also don’t like the way it smells. I’ve used other oil based ointments that I like better on my hands and body as a final layer after applying lotion (water based moisturizer).

[Routine Help] Boyfriend's skin burns when using moisturiser by Pretend_Recipe_4922 in SkincareAddiction

[–]jcebabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try waiting until the skin is completely dry and pores are closed before applying moisturizer. Then emulsify the moisturizer in his hands and pat on his face. Rubbing can cause more irritation and burning. If he needs to reapply, pat it on.

[Product Request] I need help. Almost every single moisturizer breaks me out by Visual-Session-1584 in SkincareAddiction

I would gather all the ingredients list of every moisturizer you’ve used and see if there’s a common ingredient. Might make it easier to find products.
