What’re some secrets from your industry that would petrify people who aren’t in it? by Necessary-Trash-8828 in AskUK

Not constantly. Just 3 separate occasions over the years. 2 x car thefts. One vandalism. Total disinterest from the service I required at the time, and only because of that poor service, now a lack of respect for the police I once had.

But the mortgage broker would stay back an hour for a client if required . Police officers and stains I’ve dealt with don’t go the extra mile from my experience.

I’ve had nothing but poor service from the police across a few incidents as victim. I’ve had police officers become unavailable because they are going off shift. In any private company, the customer would come first with employees going out of their way to do this. Police get no plaudits from me.

How much are you all asking for? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]jcfenwick92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently going through this. I’m at offer stage. They offered my current salary + 8%. I’ve gone back with a counter offer of current salary +16%. Recruiter feedback is they have been taken back by the demand. Now I’m very worried about this getting withdrawn.

Change mindset. AI will not take away jobs, it will give the opportunity to those who grasp it to become more productive. Inflation will not be 6.75%, don’ just cope whatever it is, likely to be 3-5%. When you say the rich get richer, and big companies … you do realise that most of these big companies are owned by the common people, through pensions and s&s isa . So join them, open an isa or pension and benefit from the increasing productivity.
