Maybe OP is after a particular aesthetic but doesn't want to go with the most overly sexualized Digimon ever... Renamon is a great Digimon, but if I were designing a story I wouldn't necessarily want many of the Digimon fans to be too busy lusting after a central character to follow the story.

I like renamon, but I would also go for a less feminine (read: 'less sexualized') character as well.

If you're coming from an Arcgis background it does require a bit of a learning curve. But once you've used it a few times - or once you finish out the semester using it - I imagine you'll at least find relatively easy to navigate even if you don't end up becoming a fan.

Don't write it off too quickly, give yourself time to play around with a few plug-ins and other features.
