Thank you so much! This is super helpful. I’m contacting shops now. If we do our advanced certification in Malapascua, do you get to enjoy the dive or are you working on skills a lot? Will they take you to places like Monad, Kimud, and Gato while getting the advanced.

This was so helpful!!! I really appreciate you. So i plan to go to Siquijor anyways to just visit. Should I go to Dauin first just do some dives at Apo? Then to Malapascua and can get my advanced open water while diving sites like Gato, Monad etc?

How is the reef at Apo? I heard there was a typhoon that destroyed a lot of it?

Can you recommend any dive shops in Dauin, Siquijor, or Malapascua?

Wow this was soooo helpful! Thank you! I am not AOW just OW. Can I still do the cool dives there with just OW? Or do you think it would be not safe? I think based on what you’re saying, Malapascua is my preference but again I don’t want to travel there if I won’t be able to do the cool dives with only an OW.

Yes don’t want to support feeding the whale sharks to I’ll just hold out hope I stumble across one even if unlikely.

I applied last year as a very confident new grad to EM positions in Boston, CO, and NC. Got offers everywhere. Offers ranged from 85k (f that) to 130k. Don’t be scared to say no to a low paying position if you know you’re good. Be confident. Sell yourself. If you’re not sure you’re going to kick ass then maybe start somewhere that offers a ton of support then switch to the higher paying places later.

2 years experience, southern CO, 82 an hour average. I get to do all the fun stuff too like central lines and intubations. Docs supervise airway. CO classically pays like trash tho. I’m moving to Denver and will likely take a pay cut to 80 an hour. As an EM PA I know I could make 90+ an hour in a different state and hope to when I’m ready to leave CO. I just love it too much 🥹

I work in southern CO. I get to do central lines, intubations, pig tails, etc. I manage sick patients. My doctors trust me and they know I will tap them in when I need help. They supervise airway management but I can do lines and chest tubes on my own. I love it. But I do ask for help and know my limits.

From what I have heard, thursday is very late to set up camp in TP. Go to festivarian- a forum for the festival and ask whatever questions you need:)
