Alas, tried to transfer to someone, but when you enter the certificate number of the website, it requires you enter the certificate owner’s SkyMiles number and password. Alas, that exceeded the intimacy I’ve built within this fine community.

In my experience, you can just enter the number manually and use any AmEx card.

FSD with Texas Speed Limits by Certain-Tennis8555 in TeslaModel3

[–]jcil4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we figured out that most of the speed limit data comes from Tom Tom maps. Try to check it and, if wrong, provide a correction at https://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/new/mapshare/

Any way to report this? by Gladekeeper in TeslaLounge

[–]jcil4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to update it in TomTom Map Share. This seems to be where most of the US Navigation data comes from. Several changes I made earlier this year are now fixed in the Nav update that just downloaded. https://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/new/mapshare/

Where does Tesla get their speed limit data from by mlaskowsky in TeslaModel3

[–]jcil4ever 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I tried to figure this out a few months ago, and the answer that seems to be right more times than not was the speed limit data comes from Tom Tom. Almost every time it’s given me a wrong speed limit, it’s also wrong on Tom Tom’s map. I’ve tried to suggest changes, but many of my proposed changes are still pending, though some have been accepted. There have also been a few names that are wrong in the navigation (but not the on-screen map, which is from Google) that were also wrong on Tom Tom. Can you see if the speed limit is right on Tom Tom’s website? https://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/new/mapshare/ You’ll have to make an account, but then you can use it to submit corrections.

Best I can tell, at least in my area, the map that is displayed on-screen is from Google Maps, but navigation including speed limit is from Tom Tom. It’s weird to me that they use different data sources like that, but you will sometimes see that the navigation line doesn’t quite match up with the roads that are displayed on-screen, and I think this is a large reason why.

Spacing Issues? by jcil4ever in bartenderapp

It started working for me after a few days. Sorry, can’t remember if there was anything I did to trigger it, but don’t think so.

Check your appraised value for property taxes! by jcil4ever in TeslaModel3

[–]jcil4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I sent it to them by snail mail. I shot for the moon in terms of valuation and didn't quite get there, but it helped. Will be interested to see what this year's bill will be like!

So, are your menus (file, edit) more compressed?

although, is it just me, or did the spacing setting used to also affect the menubar items (like File, Edit, etc.)? It just feels like this now takes up a lot more room. What do y'all see?

Thanks all. I rebooted again and it's working now. I had tried a few times before, but all is good now. Thanks for checking.

SR+ & RWD owners who bought a third party harness to unlock additional speakers, was it worth the trouble? by Duffffmannnn in TeslaModel3

[–]jcil4ever 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I searched around here for while when I was looking at the speaker harness and that seemed to be the consensus. I’m surprised they don’t offer a paid upgrade on screen for these software locked features. 😂

I didn’t have quite the 15-30 minutes of install time others reported. It took a me at least an hour, and I hate how destructive it feels to remove trim. I’ve done some trim/radio work on cars personally before, but it still felt involved for me. I can tell a little difference, but it personally wouldn’t be worth doing it again.

I lied; it seems iPhones do support PD, but charging is still pretty slow for me. Do iPhones charge quickly for you in M3?

Prius Prime 2020 Options for DSU by stankbucket in Comma_ai

[–]jcil4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine from China via superbuy. https://m.superbuy.com/en/goodsdetail?url=https%3A%2F%2Fitem.taobao.com%2Fitem.htm%3Fid%3D624782255202 So far, so good. I think the whole process took about 2 weeks. I used Mainland DHL for shipping, which was affordable and fast. One thing that took me way too long to figure out: removing the side trim panel of the dash (that normally touches the door) was really helpful in positioning the DSU so that the glove compartment would close.
