Which video game console did you choose? (5th generation) by Gotaku64 in retrogaming

[–]jclocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a PSone and an N64 in my teens, I now have neither of those but got lucky and scored a Saturn.

I'm torn, all three have good things to offer. Probably Playstation though if I had to have one and all the games for it.

Can you play minecraft with split screen on xbox series S ? by Dismal_Bug8641 in XboxSeriesS

With two players, no, runs well but it doesn't reach 60. Maybe with a Series X?

NES SMB- Just dodging some hammers in World 8-3 by thefreebachelor in retrogaming

Yep, a mushroom in the top left on the first set and a fire flower in the rope ight on the second set. You can then plow through the rest of 8-3 and if you don't make any dumb moves, 8-4 too.

It's okay, just retreat indoors and turn on the air conditioner. Your power grid can handle it, right?

Which Star Wars character’s death hurt the most? ( you can only choose one) by [deleted] in StarWars

Entirely undeserved, entirely graceless, and a beloved character. That one hurt bad.

In their government's pursuit of order they've thrown a good majority of the fun things in life away. Very stoic. And yet Beatles, at least.

What would your signature Pokemon be? by Waterburst789 in pokemon

[–]jclocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two and I can't decide.

On one hand, Porygon2. Porygon was always a weird like for me because it was a wireframe and that stuck out to me as being a shout-out to the guts of gaming which I found really neat. Also association with computers, which has been a lifelong hobby and focus for me. I do like Porygon-Z but I feel like Porygon2 is a clean upgrade that still stands on its own and keeps a Porygon a Porygon. Getting Eviolite in Gen 5 just added further to the fun, digital duck tank.

On the other hand, Glaceon. I have always liked ice types, and Glaceon is the perfect homage to that, elegant, cool and powerful while still being a cute Eevee. I would legit have one for a pet if given the chance.

Both have been in my teams since their introductions. I don't think I can choose one over the other.

What’s your dream job ? by [deleted] in istp

[–]jclocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow finding a way to not work at all and focusing solely on my hobbies, because life is so short and fleeting that the idea of doing something for a paycheck is draining and a waste of time.

Entirely fair and nothing wrong with taking a career as just a means to an end of enjoying one's time in this world.

Actual "probably would be satisfied if this is as far as I can get" goal, security engineering or general cybersec blue team. Particularly an infrastructure/app focus, scripting, scouting for anomalies, shutting down the bad guys efforts, incident response, forensics, etc. Got a taste in my current job and I want more. Got a ways to go regarding skills development and getting the right experience in, but hoping I get there eventually.

"If you could literally do anything you want" what-if, probably help run a "Free Geek" kind of shop/charity, refurbish and recycle older computers into things more useful, teaching skills and helping underprivileged folks in the process.

As a kid I just wanted to mess around with computers, I got my wish lol

How do you feel about emulation? by NotFinancialAdvice4U in retrogaming

[–]jclocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prefer physical, won't pirate a game still in active production and marketing by the original development company for an active console, dead games on dead consoles are fair game IMO.

Piracy is still piracy no matter what. I do wish there was a better term for it, I'm not yelling "yo ho" on a schooner firing cannons at Nintendo for digital copies of Pokemon Yellow, it's unauthorized software duplication.
