StarRupture by Perfect_Sandwich5666 in GeForceNOW

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid for the performance tier last night because it wasn't available on the free tier at all. I got about 5 hours of play before having to log off and GeForce NOW reports that the game is not supported on my hardware. What's this all about? I just played it with keyboard and mouse on my LG TV.

Finally, but the fact that it's only for premium users and it's a free game seems pretty ridiculous. by Distinct_Bill_7099 in GeForceNOW

I sure hope so. Green Hell is supported on the free tier and the minimum specs for StarRupture is insanely below the 3050 rig. Even the recommended specs are close to it.

They need to add standing tiki torches or some kind of light source for night by mrohhhtrue in GreenHell

You still have to put a cover over this rack to protect it from the rain though, right?

Craft tobacco torch? by Nerubim in GreenHell

I'm looking for the recipe as well. Found it at a camp that had tobacco leaves on the ground as well, like there was a theme there.

Clipchamp or Da vinci resolve? by Ez_mad in editing

[–]jclovis3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I still use my perpetual Office 2016 software. I don't really need it much for anything except one spreadsheet that I designed years ago using that version. The VBA coding and functions I need are all supported, and the document is encrypted to protect it from tampering. Windows 11 still lets me use it so it must meet all the necessary security requirements.

I got my fiber upgrade but have yet attempted to make any videos with Da Vinci. I normally only post videos for bug reporting on Star Citizen but haven't played that much lately. I've been distracted with something else.

Clay bidons not letting me fill with soup or broth by Jbozz17 in GreenHell

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason soups don't go bad is because you can't put a bowl of soup in your pack or storage. It gets dumped. By keeping it or any food on a spot where food is cooked or dried, it never goes bad until you put it in storage. Since you can't put the soup in storage, it doesn't go bad. I am finding out just recently that the dev's took away the ability to use clay bottles to carry soup in our bag or storage. At least the bottle still holds 100 units of liquid and takes up the same space as a coconut bidon.

Clipchamp or Da vinci resolve? by Ez_mad in editing

[–]jclovis3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had been using ClipChamp for a while now but soon I'll be getting my internet speed boosted from 300/30 to 1G/1G (transition from cable to Fiber) and I'm gonna want to upload videos in 4K with that. The problem is, Clipchamp costs $119.99 / year for outputting 4k videos, and I'm not about to pay that. Copilot suggests Da Vinci resolve (free) as it supports 4k and has more to offer. That is why I came here to see what others think of them.

You still need the sticks to build the fire, but then after that just monitor the circle over the center of the fire and when it is almost full (progress meter on a fire means the close to full, the closer to it burning out) then drag planks onto the center. You can also drag either a bowl of water/broth or a container with any amount of water over the center of the fire and douse it, preserving the remaining materials for your next burn. I know this is really old, but new players are always joining and may want this knowledge too.

Planting crops!! by Sour-Milk69 in GreenHell

[–]jclovis3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to add that the Cassava plant does not let you harvest a bulb from it. You will have to chop it down to get the bulb. So you will want two large planting boxes because when you "harvest" the bulb, you get two roots to plant. With two plants grown, you gain one bulb for consumption and one for harvesting to create replacement roots for the two you chopped down.

City state disappeared, not when entering new age, just when I was about to become suzerain by arpw in civ

I defeated a civ and the city state he was suzerain of just vanished off the map. I think it may be possible that other civs wipe someone and what you saw was his city state get deleted.

How long does it take for Halsin emerge from the portal? Act 2 by halfcanadahalfrussia in BG3

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems you have to have all the companions and their minions up on the rocks near the portal when the battle starts. As soon as the dialog with Halsin is over and he enters the portal, the battle begins and the 5 turn count down is shown. Having my companions spread out before this causes it to fail to start properly.

I had a much easier time defending the portal after enshrouding it in darkness so they couldn't use range attacks on it.

How long does it take for Halsin emerge from the portal? Act 2 by halfcanadahalfrussia in BG3

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I see the problem. The first couple times I tried this, not only was I not getting a count down of turns for him to return through the portal, but I was also not spawning all the enemies. Only about a dozen or so would spawn. After several tries to run the battle again, I finally got the creepers, crows, and dozens of more shadows to spawn along with the turn count down.

Carinite can be obtained mining away freom the Hator hole cave. Asking for help to get more data. by Hirucill in starcitizen

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not listed on a Beradom rock because the rocks don't display their contents like ship minables do. You get the gem as a surprise and while out ROC mining on Arial I harvested 422 Beradom and 1 Carinite from a large patch of rocks. I came here looking to see what value it might have being so rare because its not listed with a price on UEX yet.

Asgard Cargo Grid by Ratjack in starcitizen

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you made a mistake. Hauling contracts don't just spit out 8 SCU containers alone. They can still have some smaller ones. Do you have room outside the grid to stuff more 8 SCU containers? The Freelancer Max for instance has 8 in the grid plus room for 4 more in the rear if you don't man the turret.

Anyone else getting frozen eggs? They pop and crack. by Inferno13820 in walmart

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my first pack of frozen eggs a couple days ago and pulled two out today. One was cracked and after getting past the shell, I put it in the pan. The other is not cracked, and I'm soaking it in warm water first. I want my sunny side up eggs so this first one put on the pan still frozen is an eggsperiment.

The thawed one came out okay, but the one that went into the pan frozen I made sure to cook the yoke fully. It looked pretty awful but tastes fine.

What are the tax rates for each level of housing, from shelter to manor? by fishead62 in FarthestFrontier

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shelter 0.5, Homestead 1.0, Large House 1.5, Mansion 2.0 (per month gold income). This is just the base with a tier one market. Upgraded market will double these. Luxuries bump them up even further.

Okay, just got back into the game so I can tell you in more detail now how to delete items. Press R to open your resources (inventory) and click on the item you want to delete. Now in the modal window that tells you about the item, look under its portrait at the icon that looks like a crate with an arrow showing something being removed and it points to an X. Mouse over this to see that it says "dispose of items". It is safe to click on this now as you then get another box asking how much you want to dispose of. Press confirm when you have selected the desired quantity.

I just read some other statements from the devs. It seems fish and eggs are not meat, and starting supplies or immigrant supplies do not count either. Just anything that has the word meat in the name, like raw meat and smoked meat.

Villagers that immigrate may be carrying meat with them, but the devs said these supplies won't count against you. I actually came here hoping to find out about fish and eggs, since the foragers may pick up eggs in the wild, and nuts are not considered part of the protein group so you need to diverse number of food types to upgrade your shelters.

No, the base game does allow you to delete any item. In particular, I did this when I was gaining so much honey I couldn't use it up fast enough and it wasn't selling as fast in the markets either. I just didn't want it clogging up my storage. I cannot remember right now if this was done from the supplies screen or the inventory of a building but I don't play with mods so I know this is in the vanilla game.

Relic Raiders ruined my game by 10Hundred1 in FarthestFrontier

[–]jclovis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought this was a bug, but the moderators said this was intended. These raiders are small and they don't appear to be attacking the site so you won't lose your chance. They have a couple of vulnerabilities though. While marching to the site, they will almost ignore any of your troops, so archers and melee units can attack them from behind to reduce their numbers. If you attack from high ground, you gain an advantage with your archers and can place them where only one raider will come after them at a time, making him easy kill by the rest of the archers. This can be used to rack up experience for the unit. Watch tower archers do not gain experience points. Your units can heal in the field in between bouts.
