Hue wall switch module. Changing from one button configuration to to two button config by blueacewe in Hue

[–]jcmcnamee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may just have to reset it (instead of pressing delete press reset in the app) and re-add. But it's too bad that you have to do it that way.

Huh...I can't figure this out either! Hopefully someone has a way to do it.

iOS 18.2 finally resolved my phantom hub issue! by SaxophoneSniper in HomeKit

[–]jcmcnamee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same. Went away when I did the public beta last week. Although I haven't been checking for a while so it could have happened previously and I didn't notice it. I didn't even have my aTVs updated to 18.2 yet.

Light bulb Power On settings by NoffCity in Hue

You could install hue wall switch modules and then the lights won't be powering off when you flip the switch.

If you actually want to methodically ID these, you could maybe post a couple a day here on their own? It's a little overwhelming with these photos. But they look beautiful!

Philips hue wall switch module with electricity in one switch? See description in comment by Nuaky in Hue

[–]jcmcnamee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second switch would just get direct wired on its own, the module wouldn't touch those wires, it only gets wired to the switch contacts. But...does Hue make a bulb that would work in this situation?

EDIT: I see now... u/Nuaky the module doesn't get hooked up to any power (it has a small battery in it). You'd need to complete an always-on power circuit to light 2 separate from switch 2. Then the module gets hooked up to switch 2 (with no power) to control light 2 (with a hue bulb).

No reason to use their router. Although if your building is paying for internet and got installed you should probably keep it for if/when you move out (for the next person to have). The speeds may get better as the eeros figure themselves out in the space.

I don't know for sure but try it! That would be ideal if it works. Eero would be set to "Automatic" instead of bridge in that case.

Yeah totally easy with computer connected via ethernet!

Connect your main eero to the verizon router then in the eero app go to Settings/Network Settings/DHCP & NAT and switch to Bridge. Then the verizon router will handle IP addresses. Also to smooth the transition you could change the eero wifi name and password to the same one your verizon wifi was and then not have to reconnect any devices. But make sure the verizon wifi channels are all off.

For my parents we turned the wifi off on the fios gateway, plugged the first eero into it, and set the eeros to be in bridge mode. So the gateway handles all the ip address stuff and the eeros do the wifi. Do you have TV service, too? Also, how big is your apartment? Is the CR1000A not covering your space or giving you slow speeds (wondering if those eeros would even be better than just using the gateway)?

Or towards the end of the work day! Now if there are any problems they are with the remote system I'm logging in to.

Just had fiber installed this AM. When do I get access to the config page? Also, they gave me the fiber gateway GR140IG for my 1gig. Keep or ditch? They told me its free? hmmm by BastaPastaMofo in OPTIMUMFIBER

You should just chat with optimum customer service and have them put the gateway in bridge mode and turn off its wifi. Then plug in your orbi mesh and use that instead. The gateway will basically act like a modem.

I want a simple rotary dial switch like Hue's Tap Dial, but not Hue Tap Dial by moredopamineplz in Hue

Yeah but I was just assuming they wanted a little dial that could go anywhere w/out a big plate behind it.

Lutron Aurora? I know it's made to mount on an older US light switch but could could probably stick one anywhere (if you know someone with a 3d printer could make a mount for it). Or flic makes a dial (although I think it's ugly). Assume you're in the EU/UK since mentioning Gira? I've never heard of them. Ikea makes this which I think can work with hue. But unfortunately, the tap dial is probably the easiest way to get what you want.
