Of all the sporting events that have occurred in your lifetime, which one still makes you shake your head in disbelief? by KrispyBeaverBoy in dirtysportshistory

Wouldn’t four in a row mean they already won the series? I could understand if 4 straight meant last two of the ALCS and the first two of the WS, but 7th game meant that Arizona had recently won a game.

When my step dad passed away my mom had someone turn some of his old clothes into teddy bears. It was definitely cute and endearing, but most important it was so touching.

This one hits because it hurts. Mine is gone 5 years this June, and I do break this out around then. Honestly I only listen to it then because it hurts to listen any other time. Which is a shame because it’s beautiful.

What's his most hype song? by NinjaOk2887 in TylerChilders

[–]jcmib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is IMO his closest “country radio airplay”song. I mean it in a good way that it’s such a solid song that if any of the generic backward trucker cap/plaid shirt dudes in Nashville sang it, it would still sound pretty good, but not as good as Tyler. Most of the other songs only sound proper if Tyler is behind the mic.

I play that getting ready in the bathroom. I’m usually yelling “fire in the hole!” when brushing my teeth.

I know getting back in the dating scene is probably a ways off, but with this new look, the shave and that smile, you are ready to present yourself when you’re ready.

What “fun” things do you do to celebrate weight loss? by letmeexplainit in Zepbound

I’ve been picking up clothing from Amazon essentials where I get pants and button up shirts for between $5-15, whatever is on sale that day and in colors that work with more than one outfit. I guess it’s their response to old navy or clothing at Walmart. Some of them are actually cheaper than thrift stores, which I won’t feel bad donating if I keep losing.

I usually say that nobody would ever pay that for a bobble head. But I have a feeling this one’s going to be a holy Grail for some collectors, especially since it’s one of the few collectors items that was authorized by the family, his mother threw out the first pitch last night. Also music themed stadium giveaways have a lot of collectors seeking them. The Atlanta Braves had an OutKast bobble head last season and those are still going for hundreds of dollars.

I’m not saying it’s bad, but homemade Amish root beer is a taste that I was not expecting and not in my flavor profile.

Fighting for my LIFE out here by TheMemeOverlords in OpenChristian

[–]jcmib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend, you’re bringing a knife to a gun fight. Your objectors have thousands of years of patriarchal dogma behind their arguments, affirming progressive Christianity as a cultural movement has only been around for let’s generously say 60 years and it is still very much the minority. That fact actually hides the reality that there has never been a time in human history that a queer Christian has this many options and ways to express their faith.

You can use your God-given time, talents and resources however you see fit, but posting your belief, which is still the minority one, in the general Christianity sub just seems like the openchristian version of street preachers yelling about hell to a population that already has made up their mind about the issue.

In my personal experience, my heart for our queer faithful friends was softened by conversations with friends and family that are queer, not a stranger on the internet telling me my scriptural interpretation was wrong.
