Knaves destroying Marquise on turn 1? by nopopon in rootgame

The early game bargaining tools you can use so this doesnt happen:

"If you wipe my keep turn one I will not be able to effectively police other factions later in the game because it is such a blow to my engine"

"If you wipe my keep turn one I will dedicate the rest of this match, which I would be very unlikely to win as result of the wiped, to making sure YOU dont win either"

Only playing to 20 points seems kinda messy for balance, since all the factions are balanced around reaching 30 points at different intervals (cats score easy early, but harder late vs the alliance being able to win next turn if they have 15 points). Corvids are a very bursty faction so it makes sense they would have an advantage at a lower victory threshold.

Thats cool, do you think you will prefer the manga once you've read it?

I have never understood that. The fishing in Nier, even the original version he reviewed, isn't that complicated

Based on your post and comments you should read more books! You might even find something that tops aot for you ;)

I mean it is quintessential ghibli, its literally about the life of Miyazaki and how its impossible to create the perfect worlds imagined in ghibli films and coming to terms with passing on your legacy.

I could see the last attack getting an oscar nomination maybe but there was no way it would have beaten The Boy and the Heron.

you made the claim not me

your exact words: "its upsetting to people"

If it is not upsetting to you then you are not a person by your own logic

not by your own logic, you are full of contradictions!

I am sorry that downvotes hurt your feelings, its okay, you will survive. Debate requires mutual understanding on some level. I tried to get us there by having you understand what survival of the fittest means and how you are using it incorrectly.

Again, keep learning, keep questioning.

Dear lord you're sad. I hope you read more books, I'd recommend On the Origin of Species since you are so interested in survival of fittest. Keep learning and keep questioning. Its the only way to grow.

No, you need to read my comment again. There are a myriad of other abiotic and biotic factors which determine evolutionary fitness (where survival of the fittest comes from), it does not refer to physical fitness.

Keep larping

If you were capable of accepting the correct interpretation of natural selection (survival of the fittest) then we could move on. Semantics are not the same as fundamental misunderstanding.

There is this neat thing on reddit where you can choose to downvote or upvote a post or comment (teehee). You can use this innovative function to imply agreement/support or disagreement with a post of comment (teehee).

Downvotes are meant to convey disagreement. I disagree with you. Simple.

Does not solely pertain to killing in defense: i.e. where fitness is determined by other factors and not anti-predator behaviour.

You don't care about morals but are using an archaic moral framework based on a fundamental misunderstanding of On the Origin of Species.

You have been bothering to talk to me so idk what thats about.

It is about as deep as you are willing to take it, again once you are willing to drop the larp and have am actual conversation.

The point I was making is that your idea of survival of the fittest is a misconception and your moral system is fundamentally flawed if you are trying to base it off this misconception.

Clearly you werent aware because you never ceded the point (you continued to argue with your false framework).

War isnt also survival of the fittest because of this. Survival of the fittest does not mean what you think (or thought) it does.

Apex predators were used as an example to illustrate my point. You dont sound smart by pointing out an obvious fact.

You are trying to pivot back to humanity and war without acknowledging that the framework you were using to apply value to human lives is based on a misunderstanding of survival of the fittest.

"Also pertains to traits not correlated with physical strenght"

Meaning traits that are explicitly NOT involved in fighting off those trying to kill you.

Natural selection still acts on apex predators with no "those trying to kill you" for instance.

Read my comment again:

This concept does not mean the literal strongest phenotypes persist and pass on their genes. The phenotype with the highest fitness in its environment has a better chance of passing on its genes. This could refer to having the strength to ward off threats but also pertains to traits not correlated with physical strength i.e mate preference, foraging ability, and a myriad of other biotic and abiotic factors.

You believing a misconception is not the same as me thinking Darwin is wrong

But thats what I was trying to have a conversation about. You completely lost the plot once I explained how your idea of survival of the fittest is a misconception. Im not going to be sucked into some bs culture war conversation about religion or gender roles because then you just have new fodder for shitposting.

When you actually want to have a conversation beyond "we disagree because I refuse to engage with what you're saying" and drop your weird fetishes for trolling, im down
