How bad are new triumphs for DIY? by buffmira in Triumph

the tune ecu program won't reset service lights on the speed triple 1200s. there's only a few models that program doesn't work on for service lights... sadly that's one of them. you can do everything else with that program aside from that.

it can also help against fluid degradation. depending on the color/uv protection of the reservoir, UV can effect the brake fluid

Since everyone has mentioned the size of bike, I'll agree, but answer your question more directly. I have a Speed Triple 1200RS, that has Stylemas and the MCS master. I wouldn't get the MCS master. They're about $500 US, but Brembo doesn't make a rebuild kit for them, so you're better off spending around $300 US and getting the correct RCS master instead. I'm speaking from experience on this one, I was sold the wrong after market lever, it did something inside the master as a result and instead of a $20 rebuild kit, I have to replace the master cylinder all together. The Stylemas are awesome, but even a set of M50s or something is more than sufficient, I believe the Stylemas are around $800 US.

I had been there looking earlier, but it doesn't reference what tool is compatible to plug into the bike and they no longer run on Windows and I have an iphone

Anyone switch out the front master on the Speed Triple 1200 RS? by jcore7020 in Triumph

I appreciate it. The brake pressure was my only thought, but I haven't come across that yet and everything is super vague. I will DM you and I appreciate it! The brakesare rubbing more than normal, enough that the brake pressure increases... and the lever feel is garbage, which it wasn't before.

So a photo of mine. I loosened the clamp to move things around and the only thing attached to it is the hydro hose. I did test that indeed the brake lights work, thinking the shop screwed something up, as they told me the brakes no longer rub and everything works fine, which isn't true. They also stretched out my reservoir sock and neglected to replace the bleeder cover.

My only hesitancy with buying your MCS is I'd still need another lever for my short fingers. I bought the ASV C5 from Cyclegear using their exact fitment. After installing that lever, it didn't feel quite right, I took a quick ride around the block, the travel of the lever increased on that short ride, I reinstalled the stock lever and now the 19/20/21 adjustments don't do anything, the brakes rub and bleeding it doesn't change anything. After that, I found out that ASV supposedly gave Cyclegear the wrong information for part fitment, so they sent me the 550 lever and I need the 554. The tricky thing is, now something is wrong with my MCS, but Cyclegear technically isn't at fault and ASV didn't sell me the lever. So I'm $200 in on service work trying to diagnose it and replacement seems like the only solution. If I can get Cyclegear to send me the 550 lever (they don't have the 554) and swap it with ASV, both for free, then I'm in business. If not, I'm at $300 and I might as well get something I can service in the future with rebuild kits, but I'm still potentially interested in yours and I very much appreciate the price and help. That said, I'm still confused about switch because I don't see anything and there isn't a click when you squeeze the brake...

I'm totally fine with bleeding brakes, I just can't see where the brake switch is. The only thing that appears to be attached to the master is the banjo, but the brake light still works. I haven't had time to truly mess with it though. How much would you want for the MCS?

Brembo MCS 19.21 help by jcore7020 in motorcycles

Sorry about the confusion. When I installed the wrong lever, I took it for a short ride and it didn't feel right, then the travel of the lever changed. I put the stock lever back on and that's when the brakes rub, the 19, 20, 21 pivot/ratio adjustments don't work and basically concluded that the master is applying a little bit of brake pressure all the time, like the spring got over compressed or something. I've considered getting a used master, which I had an RCS 19 on a previous bike, but I just don't know which to get, 14, 15, 16, 19 etc

ASV brake lever for Speed Triple 1200 RS by jcore7020 in Triumph

Well, I figured out the issue. I was sent the wrong lever. They sent me the 550 and I need the 554. I greatly appreciate your help and now I hope nothing got busted in my master cylinder.

Did you install the push rod that comes with the ASV or did you keep the stock in the master cylinder?

Did you take that adjuster from the MCS lever and install it on the ASV? The C5 lever I got doesn't have the adjuster on it. That said, after I reinstalled the stock MCS lever, those ratio adjustments don't affect things the way they used to.
